Excellent! I’m glad the video was useful for you.
thanks to this video (and the proper tools) the drivers side window is now able to go up and down without issue. 2001 buick regal. Thanks for the video 🙂 saved us labor costs to have a pro do the job. just 92 bucks for the kit.
Great! I’m glad the video was useful.
watched your video last night fixed this morning cable was broken on my regulator only took me about 15 min for r/r thanks
Yes, they are basically the same set-up. A few people in the comments have also done the rears with no problem!
Does this also work for the back passenger windows? Are they all the same? Please and thank you very much.
No problem! It’s always good to save money on something like this.
You’re welcome! I’m glad the video was able to help.
Thanks for this! Between both front windows and the multi-function switch on my wife’s 97, your videos have saved me a bunch on labor with keeping it running and working well.
Thanks very much. Most helpful. Straight forward and mine is completed successfully. Much appreciated overview.
Excellent!! I’m glad everything went alright for you. Thanks for letting me know how it went. I like to hear feedback!
Got it done this morning. Your advice really helped me have the confidence to do it myself. It turned out to be one of the easiest DIY car projects I’ve ever done. Thanks a lot.
No problem! You will be just fine. It will be nice to not have to worry about keeping the rain out any longer!
Thanks for putting this up. My wife’s Buick window just died the other day and although I’ve done some minor repairs before I’d never replaced a regulator before. I zip tied it up for now (it’s been raining of course), but I’ll be using this info to fix the problem later this week.
Haha, I think we’ve all been there! I’m glad they all worked out for you. I’ve been in Arizona a few times, so I know what you’re talking about!
Thanks for the very kind words! I’m glad you have windows that move again, haha.
I’ve been driving around in Arizona without working windows for like 4 years- all the shops wanted 250$ per window! I just found a place that had all 4 for less than 170$ shipped, so thanks for saving me a ton of cash. Or rather- thanks for getting my windows to work ^_^ It sucks driving a solar oven out here and looking like an idiot opening your door at the drive thru! >.<
God Bless those of who that share knowledge with those of us mechanically declined people! Easy job and my buick windows go up and down as they should. I bought the replacement motor from a junk yard. Total cost of job: $45. Thanks again!
Time sure takes its toll on these parts! I’m glad the video helped.
Excellent! Good luck with the repair.
This is the benefit of having crank windows … thanks for the video! Replacing a friends regulator tomorrow for $75 lol
thanks man for posting this I had a similar problem with my 2003 century…gear in the motor ate through the housing…shredded the cable….it was a mess…so need to replace whole thing…this video helped and saved me money!!!
Great! I’m glad everything worked out okay for you.
thanks for the reply-I did figure out which tool would work better and successfully switched out the regulator/motor for 3 windows!!!! I had one small glitch on the driver side front door-the window came completely off track-so it took a little while to figure that out.
Several months ago a mechanic friend “pinned” up the back windows since they kept falling down-I was worried what I would encounter when I got inside the door. I was a bit surprised at the simple fix he did. I had to undo it .
Are you using a torx driver in the center of the bolt heads, or are you using a ratchet with a socket? Make sure you use a ratchet and socket (use the biggest ratchet size you have), and lightly tap on the head of the bolt with a hammer before trying to remove it. If you need more leverage, try to find a pipe of some sort that will slide over your ratchet handle, effectively lengthening it. I’m surprised they’re being difficult. There must have been a bad water leak.
hi again-got the parts, took apart front driver side door but cannot loosen the bolts holding in regulator and motor-tried using wd-40-still no luck-suggestions?
Thanks! I am so happy I found your video-my hubby and I will tackle this project soon!
I always recommend to purchase both. If one is bad, the other will fail not long after. You already have everything apart, the parts come assembled, and the price is really good. Good luck with the repair!
I am trying to determine if I need to purchase both the regulator and the motor-the motor does seem to be working-but since I’ll have the door taken apart, it might be best to replace both? suggestions?
You make it look so easy. Saves me $360! Thanks for uploading!
I bought my parts from 1aauto.com. The window regulator/motor was about $50. The drivers side power switch was another $50. Free shipping and received parts in 3 business days.
What was the cost? And cost for a 04 Park may be the same? And good vid thanks.
Excellent!! I’m glad everything turned out great.
Worked like a champ! Thanks for the video… Took me less than an hour and saved me well over a few hundred dollars thanks to your video.
Good luck!
I should be receiving my regulator/motor tomorrow from 1aauto. I hope it works as smooth as yours… Stand by…
