What was the watt and ohms of the resitor? Have the same problem with my daughter's car. Thanks

Jay Krom says:

Hey thanks, but you can just solder the old resistors back in- they develope cold joints. It's a pain- they are small, but it got my odo and prndl back in action!

Dee Rice says:

This is not something that I am technically capable of doing who do I go to to get this type of work done?

Angie Munguia says:

Hello, excuse me, please help me, I changed the resistors just like you did and it didn't work, the resistors get hot

John Hill says:

someone had changed the ones in my buick regal with very large resistors and they get really hot, and circuits (copper inlay) seems to lift up off the board a little bit, some of the gear selector ones aren't working properly and the mileage is missing two digits such as x2x454 and the temp gauge is off big time as soon as you start it , normal reads hot but gradually goes down two the 3/4 hot. and front daytime running light on passenger is very dim and front blinker on same side doesn't blink as it should, you have to manually blink it, ye the rear on that side blinks really fast

Joe Mel says:

People actually make a living from this, and we're almost 2030 with Westworld bots humming around.

Joe Mel says:

I only need a simple odometer mileage reader. Not a "trip odometer" but see the mileage my car has. My PRNDL led lights went out (circuit board resisters, shit). Can someone suggest the cheapest or free OBD or something like that, maybe a bluetooth, i dont know. I need to change the oil soon, haha.

Video didnt help at all, fried the whole instrument cluster

Jim Branham says:

I had to do this repair on my son's car around 2010, it is a cheap easy repair on an expensive part. Gotta love you tube and people sharing DIY video's. Thanks

PJACQ123 says:

Worked on my 2004 century refreshed the solder on the resisters an now its brighter than ever

Automotive Circuit Solutions says:

You can buy surface mount 1 watt resistors here much easier to install them.

Eric Sylvester says:

does the wattage on the ohms matter? I found 150 ohm 1/2 watt and 150 ohm 1/8 watt. Which one should I use

Eric Rollins says:

What would cause the odometer to work when the vehicle is off but then when you turn the key on the odometer screen goes off?

Lamont Smith says:

i actually just did this fix myself using a resistor I pilfered from an old DVD player power supply, even though it wasn't a 270 ohm resistor it worked perfectly. i think it was a 340 ohm resistor, but it actually seems brighter than before. i was able to reuse the three factory resistors by refreshing the solder, which i believe is the real problem since the heat they generate make the solder hard and brittle.

Fast Money says:

Thanks for the video got mine to work…..
