You just need confidence man. If the Riv isn’t toast I would definitely make it an experiment car. The Regal is mine.
My expertise use to be oil changes and that’s it. With the Regal all the mods were done on my own. It may not be much but I was proud getting the top half of the motor taken apart for the intercooler install. When it started up after I was like SWEET! I didnt break it!
I need to replace both of my window motors in my LS1. They are sooooooo slow! I wish that I had your guts. IDK if I can do this by myself. I’m thinking about making my riv an “experiment” car. The window motors are fast in it. Maybe i can switch them out in my LS1? Uh, maybe not based on my current luck, and I’m starting to think that I suck at doing stuff myself with cars. I want to do stuff myself on my cars so bad, but I feel like I just screw it up & make it worse no matter what I do.
Once you pull that panel off you’re going to need new push pins.
Some jobs are ridiculously over priced. Simple stuff like this is worth the effort.

Seriously if I tried something like that I’d end up screwing up all those damn pushpins. You pretty much gotta think of those things as disposable. People get intimidated by doing stuff yourself but just doing it and messing up sometimes, that’s how ya learn.
