Dan Davis says:

Thanks Bah53. I am at this point. According to my service manual I need
to this far to get to the place where I can replace the wiper assembly.
you dont happen to have any tips on getting to he wiper assembly. I am
not sure I understand what the service manual is refering too.

bah53 says:

@GODZILLAMANASS It would probably be eaiser to replace the whole column.
Its probably the best way to go because who knows what all they broke in
there to steal the car.

More350Power says:

Some steering columns can be a pain, its more tedious than difficult. The
tilt columns, some of them can be fun, lol. Did you break another camera??
This one sounds good, good clear vid!

NumberOneSlanga says:

Very good instruction. I have a problem with a small part after the
clockspring. Don’t know where to place it at. It’s a white plastic part and
has two long contacts. One of them is a bit shorter. May I send you a
picture over the mail? Thnx

bah53 says:

@GODZILLAMANASS Im not sure what they would cost but I cant imagine they
would be too expensive at a junkyard.

flipmaster09 says:

i have a 98 buick regal custom with the tip of the key broken off inside
the ignition switch. is there anyway of getting it out without taking the
entire column out? ive tried using dental picks to try and pull it out, but
its logded in there pretty good, and i dont have the money to hire someone
to do it. any advice?

onyxreddragon says:

you sound a lot different with this camera but the vid quality is better!

IAMDAVEAMI says:

@bah53 oi ok good i will try it again last time i took it all out the
steering wheel then there was just a solid yellow thing there and i didnt
know how to get passed it so i put it all back together but i will do it
agian today see if i can get insdie and i think theres wires touching
isnide there i smell like a burned smell everytime so hope it not back
thanks the end 😛

Lawrence Eich says:

@IAMDAVEAMI Wire fishing tape works well also a clothes hanger wire will
work in a pinch tape the wires and draw it through, It is a pain though
cheaper than an a Autoshop though !

Bravestar1217 says:

Doing one right now on a 1994 LeSabre. This helps out quite a bit, notably
the wire down to the bottom and the pushing of the black clock ring to get
the center ring off.

justin cotter says:

I have a 91 Buick lesabre that was previously stolen then recovered, the
theives broke open the left hand side of the steering column and broke
something (Not exactly sure what it is, use to be to strart it I would have
to turn on the key and use a screwdriver to pull back on this piece to fire
the car up. I installed a pushbutton start switch from autozone. and now I
would like to repair it. I have no idea what parts need replacing, or will
I need a whole new column?

justin cotter says:

@bah53 Thanks, one more question, my 91 LeSabre likes to bog down and lose
power during acceleration, I was thinking it could be a vacuum leak, but
I’ve traced back no leaks, is this problem common on 3800s and where does
it usually occur? Not trying to bug you or anything, just never owned a 3.8
and the little problems are making it almost undriveable, and it’s my daily
driver.

bah53 says:

@randomrazr It might run on old gas. Depending on how much your fuel lines
are leaking you may not be able to build enough fuel pressure for it to
run. You should probably catch the fuel coming out of the lines rather than
letting it run on the ground. You can take the old gas and mix it with a
bunch of new gas and use it or if its got a bunch of crud or rust in it you
can use it to clean parts then have a bonfire later.

naterade21 says:

ur mic sounds kinda better

bah53 says:

@flipmaster09 If its jammed in there you may not have any choice but to
take it out. It would be pretty tough to get a piece of key out of it
because all the pins inside of the lock cylinder would fall down and get in
the way.

bah53 says:

@IAMDAVEAMI I would guess that it would be similar to this, probably not
the exact same though.

Rob Close says:

geez at the beginning of the video i didnt think it was you lol

Goose Bumps says:

After putting the wheel back on, I noticed the wheel is loose, fluids are
good, what do u think I did wrong

Mr.freelancescrapper says:

thank you for not filming with a brick lol

Andrew Hyland says:

well in reference to the pass key system, i had a bad wire i think in mine.
the car’s security light would stay on and I would b able to turn it but
there would be like nothing there…. like it had no battery. I have had it
bypassed since. evidently all my garage did was find the resistance value
and bypassed it with some more resisters in the wire or something. I think
it cost me all of $50 which COULD be worse haha

justin cotter says:

@bah53 Any ideas how much it may run me for the column?

NumberOneSlanga says:

would be awsome

IAMDAVEAMI says:

oi does this work ona 94 z28 i need get into the wires in the colum i think
there all touching and shorting mine car where it runs for 10 mins when
gets hot then shuts off but does this work if i take mine off? if so i
wanna do it the end 😛

randomrazr says:

i have a question about my buick again lol is it ok to try and start the
engine on 10 year old gas? and, fi u rmember their are 2 leaks in the fuel
lines, shoudl i bother catching it in a bucket, and, how do u dispose of
it? lol thanks man!

anotherD3MISE says:

u remove too many clips wtf.. u dont even show how u hook in ur home made
plate tool, wtf is that all about?

randomrazr says:

@bah53 alright thats good to know! so this old gas, wont harm the engine or
anything?

bah53 says:

@randomrazr Old gas could clog up your injectors. It might even have enough
water in it that it wont burn very well and rust has built up in the tank.
Rust and varnish can clog up your fuel filters and starve the engine for
fuel. The best thing you can do is to drain whatever fuel is in there and
put fresh in. If theres not much gas is left in the tank you might be able
to get away with filling the tank with fresh gas.

Aishwer Ji says:

please , is anybody can tell me how to remove scooter or motorcycle
Ignition Lock Cylinder, thanks and best regards ,

cody56108 says:

looks complicated

Trell Blazer says:

I would alike to know can you take a look at my video and see if u can tell
me whats the problem please.

prosexyman says:

my 94 Buick park ave lost power before it a good idea to check your timing
belt that what made mine do it it lost a tout and all it did is lose power
and a nother one in may need a mortar flush

sbab83 says:

Wow that’s crazy, they make it so hard to get to the cylinder.
Redneckrickem did a video on bypassing that VAT security system a while
back using just a few resistors. No need to reprogram and stuff. just
search “redneckrickem VAT” it’ll be the first link.

alfie008 says:

Wow. What a pain in the ass. I would just buy a new car.

Edgar H says:

why not just cut the wire off from the ignition instead if trying to thread
in the new one all the way down? Just cut and splice, solder and place a
heat shrink on there and presto….Thats what I would do..

bah53 says:

@GODZILLAMANASS As far as I know its not a major issue with these cars but
I could be wrong. A ton of things can cause a loss of power on acceleration
but the first things I would look at are spark and fuel. Give it a tune up
(if you haven’t already), plugs, wires, fuel filter, pcv valve, air filter
etc.

bah53 says:

I don’t know how much I would be able to help you, It’s been quite some
time since I did this and I no longer have this column anymore so I
probably wouldn’t know where a certain part would go. I did however find a
website that has a lot of exploded views of steering columns that may help
you out. I will put it in the video description for you.

IAMDAVEAMI says:

@bah53 oi i tried that and i got all the way tot he lock up gears now i
have to get a gear puller then unscrew all the stuff then maybe i can see
some wires and see where its shorting out or something when i horn the horn
it like glitches at the relay and when i move the steering wheel up/down
fast you can hear it while i hold the horn down glitching and stuff but the
hope its a burn wire or somethign touching in there the horns are good too
both of them tested with 12v the end :p

Tboninator says:

Dude, I was JUST looking how to do this last night and now it shows up in
my subscriptions box… Not on a 95 LeSabre, but still… It’s weird how
stuff like this happens.

ysgeye1 says:

I have had a couple of Fords that needed new ignition switches. Poke a rod
in a small hole near it, and poof! The ignition switch pops out and then
you pop in a new one. That is simplicity extraordinaire!

badboyofpinochle says:

I hope that this will also work on a Olds Ciera looks like the same
steering set up

Techsnap says:

This camera is definitely a lot better than the old one.

Mr.freelancescrapper says:

men dont use pullers we manhandle our wheel like a old tire xD

Lawrence Eich says:

I think I’d buy another column ! I think most guy’s would clip that wire
off the switch & just solder on the replacement ! Always use shrink tubing !
