Thank you! I did it myself! Girl Power!

1aauto says:

There is either a frayed wire or there is possibly something wrong with the new motor that was purchased.

Troy Collins says:

I got one for you. I have a 1999 Buick Regal and in one day I replaced the Drivers side front and rear and pass. side rear regulators and motors, and two of the three worked, the passenger rear did not work so I replaced the master switch(Drivers side front) and the passenger rear went up and now won’t go down, and just clicks when you try to roll it up, and does nothing when you try to roll the window down. Any Ideas?

You guys are a Godsend, saving me $350+ over shop quotes! I cannot believe such a simple job is so expensive, but they are using GM replacement part which is $206. Dealerships want $380 + tax to repair. I had the driver’s door regulator repaired by a shop less than five months ago and now the regulator in the door behind it is out. Thank you for uploading and offering a great deal on parts online!

1aauto says:

They are different from the front. We carry new window regulators on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

dblenaughtspy says:

can I use the cable spool window riser assembly from the front door on the back door? thanks

1aauto says:

You may need to take the door panel off and push it back into place by hand. Sometimes the cable can break on the regulator and prevent the window from moving if it’s tangled up inside of the door. We carry new window regulators on our website with free shipping. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Brandon Robinson says:

My back passenger window is stuck. A friend of mines opened it in this Chicago Weather. and i need to have it back up before Saturday! I need to pull it up, I can hear the motor in the door but the window will not move at all!

epg1213 says:

Thanks for the video! It was a fantastic help and I was able to replace it! The only trouble I had was that the clips were almost impossible to get off the window. It was almost as if they were glued on! I got one off, but the 2nd one would not budge. I left it on and it snapped into place with the new regulator.

1aauto says:

The window motor may slow down with age, or you may want to check the gear on the motor to see if it’s stripped. You could also try to spray some silicone spray on the window weatherstrip and add some white lithium grease to the window regulator to see if that helps to speed it up. these items can be found at your local auto parts store. If you need a new window motor we carry them with FREE Shipping on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 Hope this helps you out.

domenicd123 says:

how do you know if its the motor or the regulator? im planning on helping my buddy fix his tomorrow but idk how it broke. he said it was moving slow and then eventually stopped working so it would be the motor right?

1aauto says:

If this is your first time doing this, it might take you half a day to do it because you might not be familiar with all of the tools or you might run into a snag some place.

Cap'n Knuckles says:

How long does this take?

Garages get different rates. It all depends on who you go to. You may want to try a local auto body shop if you don’t feel comfortable making the repair yourself.

jon083166 says:

may i suggest that you post the cost of the part if ordered from you….

twatripp says:

Dealer wanted $375 to do this job, so I saved about $275 by following this video. It was exactly as shown. As someone else commented, be sure to loosen the clamps before you install the regulator as it’s a nuisance to loosen them after you have installed it. Wiggling the old regulator out of the door and the new one into it requires a little patience, but you just have to get it into the right position and it comes right out. Don’t be afraid to tackle this job!!

1aauto says:

You may want to check the fuses to see if any of them are blown.

Jose Kyle says:

hi…i need you help.. i had the buick century limited 2001,,,and internal lights and the lights will not turn on the radio power mirrors not working ..

StellasPaw says:

This video was a big help. I used it to replace the window regulator in my wifes 2006 Buick. The hardest part was getting the window off of the plastic track that holds it to the regulator. But I was done in about 40 minutes. Thanks

1aauto says:

It sure is. Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on YouTube.

franticbob says:

Thank you very much for posting this! I installed it today and it was very simple thanks to your video. The two push pins that held the styrofoam in kind of got mangled so I’m going to see if I can get some good replacements at the auto store. One other thing is that the old and new part have some grease on them so have a rag nearby. It is a good feeling to fix your own car!

1aauto says:

The procedure would be the same, the only added thing that you would need to do is to take the old motor off and add the new one on.

1aauto says:

The basic procedures should be similar, but the way things come apart would be different.

Felix Petzsche says:

Is this procedure similar to what you would do on a buick century?
