The clicking could possibly be from the strut loading up and releasing or it could possibly be from the lower ball joint/control arm.
a clicking noise could also be from the struts/control arms or possibly even the rack and pinion.
i wanna ask you about clicking sound when making right turn and i driving Buick regal 1999 LS and replaced cv axle but still hearing that noise .. any idea ??? please !!!
The recommended torque spec on that vehicle may be different. If you have a Haynes or a Chiltons manual for that vehicle it should tell you in there. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Great video, for a 2010 dodge nitro do you think all those torque spec. Is the same?. And I am hearing a growling sound when I speed..
HI Lee, Thanks for checking us out, have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Thanks a lot man for the vid. Have to do this on GF’s car and we also bought a hud assembly from ya guys on amazon. Keep up the Great work…
I just changed mine today on my 2003 Lesabre. Just thought I would mention the lock tight the factory uses on the bearing bolts. It is some sort of space agaed super strong stuff. lol It was almost impossible to get the bolts out with a ratchet. I rounded off one bolt but got it out. What a job!
Thanks for doing this vid, I haven’t found a decent site explaining auto repair til now!
You will be able to tell that the hubs are bad by checking for any play in the hub to bearing housing or you will hear a growling noise that grows with the speed of the vehicle.
Great video! How do you know you need to replace the Hub ?
You may want to check your wheel bearings. We carry new ones on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
i want to wonder to. hummingg….? i guess it could be a humming noise. I get a sort of grinding sound when i turn left or right, but its not a click so i dont think its cv joints. i really notice the noise when I have a car full of people. i thought I just had some heavy ppl in my car lol. I get a wobbling feel like my tires gonna fall off. does this description sound like wheel bearings? i have 2001 lesabre!! excellent vidoe btw.
Yes this would be the same. We carry the replacement wheel bearings for your 2002 Buick Century on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 we also offer FREE Shipping on all orders in the lower 48 states.
Same deal for 2002 century?
Usually they’ll start making a humming noise when they need to be replaced.
What was the clock time for the replacement?
How do you determine when the wheel hub bearing (I assume this is the same as the ‘wheel bearings’) needs to be replaced? How much play indicated they should be replaced?
Thanks. Great vid.
When torque the hubs down, torque them to the correct settings with a torque wrench (if you haven’t tried this already). Sometimes people like to impact them on, which could cause premature wear. Hope this helps you out.
I have done the wheel bearings on my grand prix 3 times in the past 2 years. What could be causing the bearings to go bad so quickly?
This video was great. Just replaced my bearing using this video. I was a little nervous when the old bearing split apart and half was still left behind. But a few hits with a punch and hammer from the back, got the rest of the old bearing out. Thanks, you saved me a bunch. I will definitely recommend your site.
The hub and the wheel bearing are a complete assembly on this vehicle.
How much more expensive is it then just replacing the bearing?
You can use a small amount of wheel bearing grease.
Yes if you wheel bearing has gone bad on this vehicle, this is how you would change it.
Thank you for checking out our auto repair videos on YouTube. 1aauto.com
One suggestion. When hammering on the axle, leave the nut partially on the axle and hit the nut and this will prevent thread damage on the axle. Great Videos by the way.
This sounds dumb but is this what needs done if u have a bad wheel bearing? Is it the same thing?
Nice video! What kind of greese did you use for the caliper slide pins?
