Mike Conley says:

what is the part manufacturer for noise reducing filter

shuhui huang says:

I think that mounting position is too close to the center of the hull ?

Just read it from the manual, have never mounted a transducer at that point

samiam1150 says:

Shouldn’t the holes in the transom for the transducer cable be made above
the water line? You could also have mounted the transducer to the left side
of the drain plug well away from the trim tab. Just a suggestion.

patrick holcomb says:

Thanks Daniel very informative and well “produced”. Basics worked best with
explanation. Beauty isn’t everything when it comes to getting it done, but
the wife sure appreciates it :-)

jerry wofford says:

Thanks Daniel, I just bought the new Elite 5 DSI. My first Lowrance sonar.
You made it look fairly painless. All thumbs here. Wish me luck.

Captain stud says:

I bet if this was brand new Graddy White he would have perfect sealing job

Glen Varza says:

Cool video only thing I would do differently is take the 10 minutes to
solder your connections. Wire nuts have no place in auto or boat world
there is a reason they don’t sell them at boat stores lol very nice boat

Tom Nouri says:

Hi, Im doing this install. Whats the best way to control the amperage
coming off the 12v supply? I thought of just adding an inline fuse as
protection. Not sure at what amp. Or is this something you don’t worry
about? anyone, thx

alan smith says:

Is this a how to or how not to ?

David Guenther says:

Im pretty nervous to attempt this myself, but watching you has helped give
me some confidence. I currently have a EAGLE TRACKER PRO SERIES 1000…It’s
ancient! Im ready for something new!

bigfish454m says:

I can not stand people who WIRE NUT connections on boats!! nothing but
problems and I have seen fires on bigger boats due to wire nuts!! your not
very safe with the way you do things on boats!

bigfish454m says:

Sloppy! that’s an under statement!!

bigfish454m says:

You should do something about that open transom! I have seen more boats
sink due to the open transom!! Be Safe on the water!!!

99tsr says:

Did you have any trouble with the transducer location? or did it work fine
where you located it on the video?

bigfish454m says:

Why not take your wires up higher on the transom? Instead of havening them
below the water line with a big mess of 5200? Watch for leeks!!

Thanks alot

Daniel Scheer says:

The two transducers operate on very different frequencies. I had
contemplated doing away with one… if there was any interference. I’ve
been out four times now and both work great! It’s interesting to see how
each unit interprets the bottom…so far I don’t see much advantage to the
newer unit though, but that may change once I get it offshore!!! Thanks for
the comment and question.

Daniel Scheer says:

It has to be completely submerged to work. There is a process by which
transducers can be epoxied to the inside of the hull, but the signal may be
degraded.

Yohhon says:

You make it look easy

Generic User says:

Hey man, thanks for the video. You gave some good, useful tips, and it was
nice to see it being done (in real life, not some clean-room, fake
scenario). It was nice to hear that I’m not the only one that runs into
problems on a seemingly routine install. I do wish you would have let us
see the units in operation on the water, but… that isn’t really part of
the install, I know. Anyway, good job. Thanks.

Corel Videostudio

Jimmy Delaney says:

Does the transducer have to be mounted under water or can it be above water.

rdvideoclips says:

Great video, very helpful and lots of useful information. What video editor
did you use please? The video looks very professional. thank you.

Daniel Scheer says:

I though about adding a clip of it in the water… it puts the older unit
to shame. It’s pretty nice seeing the two sonar scans at the same time.

Any assistance on a Key West 1720 Sportsman?

tjtheboater95 says:

I read that if you are installing two transducers on the transom may
interfere with eachother and to put them on opposite sides. Have you had
any problems?
