Amber Leigh says:

I am so gonna try this!! Its annoying having the wipers up. . And the
people at the shop are trying to say its my “wiper motor” and they didnt
even look at it..

Alex Pellegrino says:

This video helped me fix my own wiper problem! The silver tab was actually
bent outward too far past 90 degrees so the hook missed it completely. Some
elbow grease, cursing, and hammering pushed it back into place. Thanks
again for such a detailed and helpful video!

naxen says:

Thank you!!!!

musharoom35 says:

my problem was broken linkage bushings. Since I know nothing of the wiper
system, this was excellent. Incredible patience. Thank you for braving the
weather too!!! I gave up on installing the bushing today due to heat,
sweat, & bugs.

sirduk55 says:

chraged almost $300 to fic it. When it broke again we were not about to
drop another $300. I am no mechanic and I fixed it in about 20 minutes
thanks to this video. I also plan to write a nice letter to the dealer that
hosed us.

MichiganFlyer2 says:

@mmz77 The car I tried this on was totaled in August. It lasted for about a
year every time I fixed it (I think I fixed it 3 times in about 3 years).

Transportation Toastmasters says:

COPY and PASTE this even though it looks incorrect (Youtube will not let me
post links) and go to POST 52 and you may find some useful info to
read….. w.topix.com/forum/autos/chevrolet-impala/TE3IR9DA75VKQELOT/p3

MichiganFlyer2 says:

If you are at the 7:37 timeframe in the video where it shows the
transmission gold tab just to the right of the silver large tab…. I must
explain that here You must turn the wipers on low to get the wiper(s) in
the park position temporily. They will be in park when they are not
cleaning the windsheild most of the time when running on low. So at 7:37 I
have the wipers on low…and this allows you to see both gold and silver
tabs and how they align. Be careful as the wipers are on!

mgl995 says:

I’ve actually been wondering how the park works on My Impala. It was
driving me crazy lol. Pretty neat, but as usual, the more complicated you
make something, the bigger chance for something to break. Now, I have to
worry about this, too…

steve erino says:

Very informative. Very good camera work too.

Vacmasterthegreat says:

any ideas on how to fix wipers that stop wherever they are when I shut them
off? I think a better way of putting that is the auto-return isn’t doing
anything?

Jessica Blake says:

you sir, are my hero. I spent time researching this issue and saw the link
you provided to this video. I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to
share this; I can’t imagine having the patience to film this while fixing
it as well. Your video is stellar and the step by step way you put it
together is brilliant. Thanks much for sharing, can’t thank you enough

MichiganFlyer2 says:

@PJMPercussion Thanks for the comment.. This happened to my car a couple
years ago & probably will happen again but this is a quick and easy fix
that should last for a while until you need to fix it again. Just take care
not to turn on the wipers before the windshield is scraped & you
doublecheck that the wipers are unstuck by making sure they are free & it
should last a year or two before the next time.

MichiganFlyer2 says:

@MichiganFlyer2 I meant to say above the gold tab is just left of the
silver tab….

Jessica Blake says:

@MichiganFlyer2 Fixed mine yesterday, Thanks so much for posting. You are a
lifesaver !!

learial says:

You are a life saver!!!! This just happened to my car and I read about how
to do this but was totally lost until I saw this video. Thank you so much
for posting this!

edtheriault says:

off…what part needs to be replaced

007tortuga says:

Bro ” you made my day . Thanx very much for this video. I finally fixed my
windshield wipers today. Thanx again I appreciate it. God Bless “

David Duff says:

I had the same problem with my 02 crown vic, I thought it was going have to
be taken to a car place to be fix. Thanks for the video upload to help! I
saw it was snowing.. and you still made this, Thanks!

drowization says:

nice job. thank you for this 🙂

MichiganFlyer2 says:

I may have mentioned this in my video but I also broke my windshield the
1st time I tried this. I used a hammer to try & get the winshdhield wiper
arm off and used too much pressure on the windshield and a tiny crack
formed. Within a few weeks the crack grew. You may be able to get the
windshield strengthened with some bonding material before it spreads. Ask a
windshield repair place if that is possible it is alot cheaper than doing a
windshield.

MichiganFlyer2 says:

@TheTeslin You’re welcome. It seems to restick about once a year so each
successive time I fix it things are easier.

Hajazi Aseil says:

Yes I can

sirduk55 says:

Thank you so much for posting this video! When this happened to our 2005
Impala the dealer

John Gennaro says:

you so smart…. Your video is stellar and the step by step way you put it
together is brilliant. Thanks much for sharing.

Transportation Toastmasters says:

Go to reply 52 in teh links I gave you. It may be possible to just replace
the bracket from your local junkyard if you can find a way to lossen it
from your car.

Ryan McNair says:

My dad and I had the same problem today and your description helped us fix
the wipers. Thanks for posting this video!

Castlestoney says:

Another typical GM problem. Wipers, air cond, door handles break, door windows
fall off tracks, intake gaskets leak, steering boxes seize, control knobs
break off,trim/emblems fall off, fuel pumps fail and they still make you
drop gas tank instead of just removing rear seat and remove from top like
jap cars been for 20 yrs. Glad we bailed them out so we can keep junk yards
in business. Absolutely junk! Towed my last GM off at 104,000 mi Nothing
worked on it and it was garaged and maintained to the T.

Paul Mercer says:

Thanks so much for this video. HUGE help!!!

Ellen Gonzales says:

That’s a very helpful info… thank you soooooooooooo much

MisterRexx says:

I owe you a beer. You have solved my problem. Thank you so much.

MichiganFlyer2 says:

@learial I am happy to hear comments! As I advised the other posters just
be careful and make sure you scrape your windshield very well before
starting the car in the winter. If there is ice on the windsheild & the
wipers are turned on this problem will reoccur quickly.

PJMPercussion says:

great and helpful video – thanks for your consideration AND hard work !

Siale Gang says:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

April Carpenter says:

can ne one say U-P. Eh?

idontknow5858 says:

How hard would it be to replace the transmission itself?

Sheri3561 says:

We are going to try this this weekend. I have been driving with my wipers
in the up position for over a year now…very embarassing. The repair man
wants to charge $480 to replace the park lever.

MichiganFlyer2 says:

@yoyohodown98 glad I could help and thanks for your comment!

yoyohodown98 says:

THANK YOU SO MUCH. My wipers were stuck up and everywhere I went to they
suggested putting in a new wiper module board that would cost me 190 and
thats before they try to talk me into a new motor as well. I watch the
video and was done in less than an hour. Your a life saver bro much
appreciated

dexterr88 says:

ford rangers usually have that problem
