Driver airbag can be removed without taking all the trim and dash cluster
out. Turn wheel 90 degrees so you can access the back of the wheel from the
bottom. GM has a special tool that is used to release both clips and the
same time but if you you use 2 right angle picks and apply equal pressure
the clips release very easily. The passenger bag is the one that is a pain
in the neck.
