3 years and 30,000 miles. Just a poor quality bearing. Yours, too, I expect.

richard young says:

Hello KB, if you replaced the wheel bearings 8 yrs ago. Why did it go out
so soon? Did you put lots of miles on your car since you have had it? It
happened to a van that I had. The new bearing. went in about a year. I put
very few miles on it.

Bob Vance says:

Just replaced the water pump last week. I know belt tensioners make noise
sometimes too but I these two tensioners sound fine.

kbbacon says:

Maybe water pump?

Bob Vance says:

Well my daughter says her car is making noise. It sounds like a harmonic
balancer. Sounds like a bunch of nuts and bolts bouncing around in a
washing machine.

kbbacon says:

I just did a harmonic balancer on one of those engines. It was a booger!
Thankx!

Bob Vance says:

Nice job on the bearing. I have replaced bearings many times but I never
tried to teach someone how to do it. Good job. My son and I Just replaced
the water pump on my daughters Supercharged Buick Riviera. I should have
made a video. Because he is just learning, I over emphasized scraping the
block where the water pump bolts up to it to ensure a leak-free seal. And
we did have to use the double wrench set up to crack some bolts loose.

not2fast4u2c says:

How many miles on that bearing ?

kbbacon says:

Loose, too! and only three years old.

not2fast4u2c says:

I guessed it was the left side When you turned that way it put a load on
the bearing That was Loud !!!

kbbacon says:

I’m not in it!

ladyowned says:

Eww, thats a bad one. Had that in my 88accord it was horrible! No wave? 🙁

kbbacon says:

You gonna replace one now!! It would make an excellent video! Thank You!!
(btw I’ve trained dozens of mechanics, so I have a little practice)

Trace O'Liberty says:
