Five common issues with the Buick regal gs

Five common issues with the Buick regal gs
So here are the five issues common problems I hear people complain about and also some that I’ve personally had dealt with.
1. Window regulators
2. Coolant leak
3. Low coolant sensor
4. Broken odometer
5. Transmission
Bonus MAF sensor

Good thing all these problems are cheap to fix except the transmission. But overall this Buick regal gs has been amazing to me, so I cannot complain. Hope you-all enjoyed this quick video next video should be an update on my wheels.

Wow. Let me add some.
1.) AC/Heater Control Panel LEDs go out due to cold solder joints Gotta pull it out and resolder like 16 pads. Otherwise it's some $150 for a used unit that will have the same problem
2.) Every pully the bears go out
3.) Aluminum rims are leaky causing low tire light
4.) Oil level sensor gets sticky and causes low oil light
5.) Rear speakers rattle even with negative bass

Man, might be time to sell the GS. šŸ˜›

Did you have to fix the lower or up manifold gasket ?

Molly Dolly says:

I got a smog test. When I went to get it ( it passed), the Technician said water is leaking into the engine from the coolant overflow. Is it easy to repair?

Travis Richmond says:

Lmao I just inherited a Buick Regal, and it literally had all these issues… coolant everywhere today haha

Jonah Nibbelink says:

I've got an 01 Regal ls with 252k miles with an original engine and trans and the only one of these issues I've had is the window regulators going out.

Scypheroth says:

cant say i ever heard of the coolant temp sensor issue

Johnny Deville says:

Other than the coolant leak with the intake manifold, these 3800V6 engines are absolutely amazing! My 98 Regal LS has over 300k miles and has been very reliable! Yes, some of these issues occurred with mine, but I've spent less than $500 in over 5 years, to keep her going. Absolutely, these are great daily drivers.

Colten Hood says:

Looking at a 99 supercharged with 172k from a small dealership. Don't know anything about it yet other than it was in a wreck it's first year of life but the title is still clean lol if you have any tips for me when I go look, I'd appreciate it!

Dennis Mattsonn says:

Got a '96 Regal 66k miles..
No resistors to go bad..
Coolant light doesn't come on anymore after new radiator … must look into. – "MUST DO'S" – I've done
some miles, some age. SEE SERVICE MANUAL
"Must Replace Items"
1- Radiator <age >
Will leak coolant into Trans cooler, Adios Trans
2- Power steering high pressure line <age >, will rupture, spray exhaust manifold… Engine Fire..
3- Oil pressure sending unit<age>… plastic disintegrates, shoots ALL OIL out.. Adios Engine..
4- Fuel pressure regulator <age> leaks Fuel into plenum, ignites, blows plenum apart, Engine Fire
5- Nylon Fuel hoses<age>
Pinhole leaks, sprays fuel on engine.. Engine FIRE..
6- Wheel Studs<age>
Develop cracks, break off, resulting in loss of wheels.
7- Plenum… Check for warping by EGR from heat, will leak coolant into plenum/ engine.. Adios..

– TRANSMISSION TIPS –
1- At a stop, avoid hard acceleration into 2nd to prevent failure, it's weak..
2- In town, keep trans in 3rd gear to avoid constant in/out into OD to prevent loss of either/both gears.
3- NEVER… EVER have a transmission flush done..
Will cause it to start slipping..
Drop pan, replace filter, replace the fluid from the pan ONLY….
IF HIGH milage, & NEVER had a trans service…
Save the fluid from the pan, and put back in.. Do NOT replace with fresh..
4- IF Trans starts to slip, Immediately use a transmission fix additive..
Many use/recommend LUCAS Trans fix with good results, but the #1, best is
Prolong Super Lubricants
PSL15000.. I'd go for that.

How many miles 'til the tranny dies?

Ron'l Waiczis says:

Thanks for a video that does not beat around the bush! Your opinion please Would you consider buying 1999 Buick Regal, 73,000 miles, original owners (retired couple) They say they have taken good care of it and it is beautiful ~ But they have no maintaince records. Thanks so much

redbuick says:

I agree. I bought my car 13 years ago, from original owner, it was babied. I replaced all regulators. The intake, and the coolant level sensor. Ive only put 20k miles on it so I've not had all the issues mentioned. I'd like to ad that the transmission shift solenoid as well can go out. Why? In their quest to make self destructive cars, put it inside the tranny case with all the heat. A 700-1000 job.
