Hi Bill, did you end up taking the wheel off and putting the tie-rod end on
up the right way after the video ? No idea if anyone else picked it up but
the tie-rod goes under the arm with the nut on the top. The hole it goes
into is tapered and so is the tie-rod, so right now, the tapers are
opposite, that’s why it wouldn’t tighten up properly. I hope you read this
comment ! Regards, Brad.
With tons of little / medium mechanical issues but its a tank and still
gets me to work everyday.. I think it was all my OCD care and over
“maintenance” in the past thats helping it last so long I’ve gone like 10k
miles without changing my oil or filter lol and my cats completely clogged
“solid honey comb inside”, huge exhaust leak, my trans is slippin a tiny
bit, brakes are worn, tires need rotated, old air filter, semi bad mpg,
ignition has permanently locked my key and its always in the car.
theres a lot of cars that you could go like 40k miles on without changing a
tire, oil , bearing , strut ,spring ,tie rod, brakes, air filter, cabin
filter, a/c, alignment on.. Now those things may have some major issues
during those times like NOISES, squeakiness, rough running/ driving
conditions in the vehicle… But you can simple ignore those things I used
to be so OCD I would fix every little tiny part that had even slight wear.
I’ve now ignored my car due to $ and motivation for over a year
wheres your cotter pin on the tierod nut billy u crazy guy? btw bill nex
time use a large pair of channel locks to pinch down the tierod to stop it
from spinning when putting it on same with taking it off use a pickle fork
hammer it in between the steering knuckle and tierod then ud beable to
remove the nut with out spining the tirod bolt
“She’s only money, she’s got no value unless you spend’er” – that’s
actually quite wise! I mean, really wise! Although nowadays, where billions
and trillions are being played around with as just numbers in a computer
that only take up a few bytes of memory, the wisdom of this becomes more
and more clear for everyone to see.
The last tie-rod i put on the light blue cover that is protecting the ball
was to be removed before installation. You should check with your parts
store on this,.that may be why you had difficulty tightening it
Sorry for the false alarm Bill. Every car I’ve done has been the reverse
and when I saw the difficulty you had getting it locked up I thought that
was the issue. Regards, Brad.

Did you tighten the bolts on the back of the bearing? Or did I miss that?
How many dewies do you deal with on an average day?
