yah those control arm bushings are always annoying.any time i do bushings i
take the easy route….cutting torch / air hammer. but yah buying the whole
control arm definatly would be the way to go.
*SHORTCUT*…Turn the wheels all the way to the -R-. remove the two pins
holding the plastic on the passengers side fender well behind the tire. now
you can get to the motor mount bolt from behind the tire without having to
take any other bolts off the motor mount. take out the bolt, remove the
spacer, then install the belt…DONE!…I just did this and it worked out.
and I was afraid I would have to lower the engine to get the bolt
out…..NOPE!. good luck!!! 🙂
Thanks for the quick demo of the belt. I am in the middle of trying to put
mine back together after the tensioner pulley went and snaped the belt.
After breaking a tensioner pulley bolt in the tensioner, not knowing then
that the counter clockwise was really tighting the bolt. Fixing that, I
thought the hard part was over than found that I needed to removed the
mount. QUESTION- Did you have to take off or loosen the bolt behind the
power steering pulley to get the belt to go on?
That car has got to be much more enjoyable (and safe) to drive after all

@ndaguanno I wasn’t paying attention when I put it in gear.
wow, I can’t believe they’d make a serpentine belt that hard to replace.
That’s not very well thought out engineering from GM I guess.
where do you buy your parts from? Im from Ontario Canada.
Try doing it with the SC motor. You have 2 belts.
Why are you riding around in 2nd?
Hell yeah…the Park Ave is all happy again…lol

@autom0bile I get most of them online at rockauto

I thought chrysler was a pain to change belts on in a tight space….. you
almost had to remove the engine, lol….. what are engineers thinking??
