What gap did you use for the 3100???

602Laoguy says:

good tip thanks it help 🙂

angryace13 says:

also removing the ignition coils allows easier access too the plugs and
wires… two bolts hold the coil bracket too the intake manifold 10mm if i
remember correctly, and two nuts hold the mounting bracket too the head on
the back two 13mm nuts, i think its a little safer in my opinion than
tilting the engine forward.

tomisupsic says:

Skylarks don’t have the dog bones. Its a b to replace the rear ones.

matts417 says:

@Autotechviewpoint oky thanks I got it done and it worked out great 😀
….now to find that transmission leak…. hahaha

Nicholas Daw says:

@nine09duce yeah there’s actually a bracket just behind the dogbone on the
driver’s side where you can put the bolt back into to keep the engine
tilted forward

matts417 says:

If I tilt the engine forward, will I have to do any readjusting on the
motor or anything to get it back to the proper way?

angryace13 says:

also i forgot, it has three harnesses that plug into the coil pack in
addition too all the secondary wiring, unplug those carfully lift the coil
pack through a series of wires and harnesses, and there you go… easier
access, a second way…

camaro75v8 says:

I have done plugs and wires to my 1997 3.1L lumina and to me its easier if
I just remove alternator, it gives me plenty of access, takes me around
10-12 minutes total removing belt and alternator, plus another 40 for plugs
and wires.

thanks for the useful video

Autotechviewpoint says:

ASSuming is will start.

sjtf2 says:

actually the video is very helpful . IDIOT

Autotechviewpoint says:

I can only guess that it has cap and rotor hidden back there

12lbchevelle says:

Your second tip is a terrible idea. Just remove the coilpack! Way way more
simple and you’re not stressing the alternator with a 2×4.

Autotechviewpoint says:

So when you say no power, you mean electrical power, no dash lights,
headlights, nothing happens when you turn the key on? You had the hood
open, is the belt that runs the alternator still there?

gracetoday4u says:

Thank you, very helpful…

jersey1979 says:

Pulling the coil pack also helps you get access to the rear plugs and to
the upstreamoxygen sensor back there.

nine09duce says:

is it the same way for 1994 cutlass supreme

dujuanmcdaniel says:

Yes it is

Devin Breeding says:

do you know how to do this on a 97 grand am? I don’t have those particular
motor mounts

DevlinEdora says:

I should mention that I don’t really know much about cars. I was told by a
friend that the oil may be causing this problem, and was hoping that you
could confirm or deny. Again, thanks for your time.

DevlinEdora says:

I just bought a 2000 Buick Century. I had to drive it home, about an hour,
most of which was highway/freeway. Right when I hit the slower residential
area a couple of minutes from my house the car died. I lost my power
steering and my gas, but the lights and the radio stayed on. Since then
I’ve had the same problem a couple of times when idling. I found there was
way too much oil in the car, about 3 times past ‘full’ on the dipstick. Do
you think that could that have fouled the plugs? Thanks.

Autotechviewpoint says:

@matts417 No you don’t. Just push/pull it into place to line up the bolts
again, and that is it.

Autotechviewpoint says:

Well, to reset the ECU memory what you could do is dis-connect both battery
cables and then touch them together, that will discharge capacitors and
such in the computer. then hook up the battery again. a “boom” sounds like
you blew out something in the exhaust, blew out a spark plug out of its
hole maybe? Take a good look around the engine and exhaust and listen for
any unusual noises.

Hey thanks for taking the time to comment on my tip video
