I read somewhere that the nuts/bolts for the half shafts are one-time use
parts. Did you have to replace those along with the bushing? Or did you
just replace the bushing? Excellent video by the way, very helpful.
Finally got around to working on this. So far only 3 broken pipe flanges
made in china from what apears to be hard pressed tinfoil that has been
stamped, threaded and galvanized. So far the entire metal bushing sleeve
has moved 1/8th inch or so.
there is a tool you can buy that works specifically for the BMW
differential. simply do a Google search on “bmw differential bushing tool”
and you’ll find it. However, It’s not that hard to make your own.

I don’t suppose there is any way to heat the bushing mount and drive the
bushing out by carefully tapping it out with a hammer?
