Well done on the tools & improvisation tho

stevostyles1 says:

Well i was thinking i would do this myself but if all that was needed i
thought fuck that. Why just bearing its bwt 35 quid for a new hub with
bearing

andthanwhat says:

You used entirely more tools than needed to do this job

Ben Jones says:

Ps. I wouldn’t listen to anything that bender (nicknackpaddywack) said
underneath -obviously not a proper engineer. Shame he’s called ben like me
– a disgrace of the name! Keep up with the good work fella 😉

DRMotoringTips says:

Thanks for your kind comment. On the video we replaced the left hand rear
wheel bearing, now gotta do the other side as the back plate has rusted out
releasing the handbreak retaining fittings. Instead of using a slide hammer
to remove the bearing I made up a draw bolt with various spacers. Good
luck, hope all goes well mate.

Ben Jones says:

Great video mate ! One of the best I’ve seen. As a west country boy myself
its nice to see some proper engineers for our neck of the woods! I’ve
ordered my two new rear bearings but after watching your video I think I’ll
need a decent sized slide hammer to begin the job. Cheers mate and take
care 😉 ben

Ronald Mcdonald says:

To many cuts at important parts of the job. Ill look else where for a diy
this isnt it

ian ross says:

Run a bead of mig around the outer race and the bearing will nearly push
out.

D Cloes says:

Thank you for your video. I was able to get my hub and bearing out of my
1997 328is following your video. My axle was stuck like yours. Putting the
axle back in was a challenge.

who ever makes videos like this obviously has no life what so ever . This
is Ben if you did not all ready know .

Most professional and informative demonstration. Would definitely recommend
this.

Bulete Aurelian says:

nice video .. i would have used a screw and some combination of pipes/
washers to get that bearing out ( the one you used the pull hammers for)
