Americans finding European cars hard to work on baffles me. How simple do you want it. Your moaning about turning a bolt left a few times

@boredjordo3899 says:

Just did a timing chain on this engine, to clean the engine you have to take out the oil pan, but you need to take the engine off it’s mounts, get a 2nd jack and jack the engine up, drop the subframe down so you have enough space to pull the oil pan out, then do all of that in reverse

BMWs aren't hard to work on. There may be an additional step or two to do the same compared to a Japanese motor of similar variety. But those steps are almost all easier to execute on their own.

@dragos-lucian says:

And then you get to replacing the timing chain and the guiding rails and so on. You just need to remove the entire engine to do that because the distribution is at the back of the engine. That's easily done.

@mikeeli2286 says:

That’s not that much work to get to that. Try working on Italian or British car

@svenvanwier7196 says:

Just use it to refresh some rubbers

@Rlip says:

Idk I have one at 190k no issues

@504chris says:

I mean it's not like the cams are a major internal part.. nah bmw is just being difficult unlike chevy who just have their cams sitting outside the valve covers I guess

@georgeleong2853 says:
