In this video I show you the peeling and faded clear coat on my cheap 2001 525i. This is the $400 E39 that I rescued back in July and have brought it back to life: https://youtu.be/_qFPkUz47VE

Sun damage and UV damage is common on cars that are parked outside and not garaged or taken care of, and this e39 was a great example of that. In order to improve the appearance, I was able to wet sand the peeling area and then paint it with fresh color matched paint. Next, I used 2K activated clear coat to finish up the job. Finally, the repair area was wet sanded again and then polished with my DA (dual-action) polisher and Meguiar’s M105 compound. The final result has greatly improved the appearance of the car, and while not perfect, is a relatively easy repair you can do on your BMW with little experience.
