It appears my pages has become the focus of some “Jack stand trolls”. If you are not smart enough to make your own safety decisions then you shouldn’t watch …

John Bernal says:

I’ve been broke and unemployed to and had to make do with a small bag of
tools to work on my m3. So I feel you on not using jack stands. But an old
rim or blocks of wood or even cement bags since you’re a contractor would
be useful too. Nice vid. And clear commentary bud.

ATLDAVEED says:

I just did the tie rods on my 97 using this video. Hardest part was getting
those clamps off. Romex wire works great to clamp the boots back on. I just
ripped apart some electrical cabling I had laying around.

bcbp14 says:

I’m replacing tie rods on my e39, it this procedure similiar?

FliegenKlappen says:

hmm nice vid but you can use a zip tie instead of romex wire for a cleaner
look, i have clunk in my steering im guessin its my tie rods

Channel Zero says:

@gohanx05 I don’t have an alignment machine. I am not a shop. If one side
is toed in or out more than the other, you will experience pulling.
Especially on titled road surfaces. I use the tape to get me as close to
straight as possible til I can get my car aligned properly. I suggested
people take there car to get it aligned after doing the repair in my vid. I
am sure most people who view this vid are trying to do this them selves and
can’t afford to go to the shop, like me.

rallyfan916 says:

We are doing this to an E32. I didn’t realize how much difference the 2
chassis had. This gave us a few good ideas though.

BrabusTKR says:

@benton386 i know, i was making fun of them dude hahaha. good tip with the
wire and how to get alignment fairly close to how it was

Channel Zero says:

@joneperry There are several things that can cause cause wandering. The
ball joints, tie rods, bushings, and rack. I had a similar problem. I had
to replace the ball joints and tie rods to fix it.To get a good alignment
take it to the shop, they have a machine that will get it right. Bad shocks
will ruin your suspension faster as I learned so make sure they are good.
As far as stiff steering. I have the same problem. I think it is my pump,
but I have not replaced it yet. Does you pump whine?

Frederik Fogelstrøm says:

Nice video. Does anybody know if it’s the same procedure on a e39 528i?

pointerisnull says:

First off, I didn’t need this DIY. I just clicked on it to see what the
hell was up with all that red spray paint. And I stopped watching as soon
as I realized that your stupid ass was climbing under the car without jack
stands. It’s not a “compromise”, it’s just plain flat out stupid. NEVER
work under a car without jack stands. Want to delete this video? Please do.
Because if you’re not going to show proper safety you’re doing more harm
than good for the DIY community.

christopher miletich says:

Rocked that video thanks. Saving a lot of money doing it myself

Channel Zero says:

@Fogelstroem88 The procedure is similar in most vehicles with this type of
steering mount. BMWs are pretty interchangeable between models to some
extent. The 5 series parts may be a bit longer but should go in the same
way.

joneperry says:

@benton386 Im at 68k mls I’m bout to buy tie rods soon, debating between
Meyle and the better Lemforder, but price is the biggest factor. Its cold
so haven’t been able to get the car onto stands outside, will be clearing
the garage next week to get a look at the FCABs to see if they are worn
from other weak components and I’ll try to get it replaced under the 2 year
service wrrnty. Pump doesnt whine, I changed the fluid and it does feel a
bit better, but will need to diagnose it further.

BimmersGarage says:

Nice vid. Thanks for sharing. Great tip on the wire for holding on the
boots. However, you should have used some jackstands… it really wasn’t
safe to rely just on your little floor jack when working under your vehicle.

Channel Zero says:

@gohanx05 Yea I should have used a jack stand. Don’t have one. I could have
used wood or blocks, but they would have got in the way of me making a this
vid.

Channel Zero says:

Instead of being grateful some guy put a tutorial on how to do most of the
work at home you troll. I have a lot more how to’s to post, but i am so
sick of people bitching about the few compromises. Maybe I don’t care if
the car drops on me in the process, have considered that TROLL!!!!!! Its
obvious you didn’t know how to do it or you would not have been looking for
this video. Maybe i should delete it so TROLLS like you don’t learn.

BEEMERZFINEST says:

Work nicely done couldn’t have done it better myself and I’m a certified
BMW tech, btw is that a E36 m3?

BrabusTKR says:

nice calipers…..

bcbp14 says:

Nice DIY is the e39 i6 a similar job?

Benjamin Wendt says:

holy shit! thats so easy! when I read on forums it sounds so hard and a big
long project! but thats so easy! great video thanks much!

Alex2265 says:

really upset lol..

LifeNTimesofCartier says:

I had to subscribe, ur solving all my diy questions. Plz keep adding new
vids. I have a 96 328i. was going to do a complete swap but too much money
and idk enough to do it myself. Didnt use my car all winter cause of the
starter. I have power steering leak, my idle and car cuts off when it
stops, so i think i need a new idle control valve and bunch of other shit.
But so far i def appreciate the vids your putting up. Fuck everyone else

5cylcoupe says:

very helpful video

Channel Zero says:

Your just making your self look like an ungrateful douche bag. Apparently
you needed help or you would not have watched this vid. So I even helped
you who doesn’t deserve it. Your comments are the equal to spitting in my
face. Don’t like it watch some else’s vid.

Jacob Estes says:

I actually did watch several other videos. I did not finish watching yours
because such an irresponsible practice throws your credibility into
question. You have not helped me. I don’t think these comments are like
spitting in your face. That would be a personal attack. My comments are not
meant to be personal. The point of my comments remains the same: USE SOME
FUCKING GOD DAMN JACK STANDS.

Channel Zero says:

Don’t like do watch it. Learn from some one else. At least I am helping the
community, unlike you, who wants free knowledge and spits on it. What is it
with the internet turning people into trolls.

Jacob Estes says:

Incorrect. I am not trolling. This is a fact: Supporting your car solely
with a floor jack is unsafe. You are setting a terrible example. I am not
spitting on your knowledge. You are not helping the community. You should
take this video down, because it endorses a very dangerous practice. This
is not a personal criticism unless you make it one by personally endorsing
the irresponsible practice of working under a car that is not safely
supported.

fdo420 says:

thanks for the vid. mine is due soon, and was looking into a good DIY. this
helped big time. just a question for you too.. wouldn’t the wire you used
instead of a clamp or zip tie cut the rubber boot? just a thought I had
while watching.

Jacob Estes says:

USE SOME FUCKING JACK STANDS.

zapwatt says:

Great video. Please, please, please support your car next time.

Channel Zero says:

Funny how the internet turns people into ingrates. Get over it. I couldn’t
afford them then and i hate jack stands any way, they nearly got me injured
many times. i would rather use 2 bottle jacks instead, like i do now,
ASSHOLE.

Channel Zero says:

@BEEMERZFINEST No it’s not an M. It’s a 328I with a few things here there
done to it.

SuperStormtroop says:

I appreciate your efforts, at least you’re putting the work in and a lot of
people are too stupid to even do a small mechanical job on their own car!
it’s basic street mechanics! it’s no joke about the axle stands though man
once I saw two retards in the scrapyard car park laying directly under
their car while it was on the wheel jacks with two chipboard speaker boxes
propped under the jack points! And I heard about some kids letting a jack
down on some poor bastard while he was still under the
