It is easier to use the emergency transmission release for neutral mode with the car off. This enables easier access to the guibo rear bolts during removal.

Hello, the results are great no more loud thunk sounds, no more pulling up to stop signs and clunk noises, I’m happy with the results, the design still needs a fix but overall I’m happy, if you own your car for a long time you might have to put another one in 75,000 miles later.
How has your car been ever since you replaced your guibo/u-joint? Is it smoother at all? I need to replace mine ASAP!
Hello, no I never felt that I lost power, in the video it shows the bad slack on the guibo on my bad one, so once the driveshaft is spinning really fast you won’t get the clunks or noises, at least on mine that was the issue. Thanks for watching the videos.
Yes sometimes but you would feel more of a clunk then a slip but others report different issues, normally it’s from Park to Reverse then Clunk, sometimes for me park to drive, but always was from 1st gear to 2nd then I would slow down for a stop sign and clunk very embarrassing it sounds like your transmission is going (that’s what others think). The worst sound was again Park to Drive and Park To Reverse Clunk. Sounded like my transmission fell off. Thanks for watching the videos.

Yes the famous Clunk or knock, mine is completely gone now that I replaced it. I’m very happy with the results.

the most famous symptom for a bad Guibo is a clunk or knock when you put gear on R. after replacing it’s gone.

If its a shop can u give me the info ..and the smoke coming out of your car could be the valve steam seal I think not really sure but I read about it in the forum it’s about a $5000-8000 job but there’s a guy in Long Island that a few people from the forum swear by him that his good but I could be wrong Chris the guy that made the video would know more than me so don’t just go with my advise

If you have the tools and the time, I’d say go for it, but if you have the extra several hundred bucks to pay for it, then head that route, thanks for watching:)
That’s sounds like a fair price to myself as well, the part he’ll get for about 100, and he’s charging you 400 in labor, if I were to do this job for someone, I would probably charge the same, if you have the cash it’s a good price. Try to get him to do 500 out the door no tax:) Thanks for watching:)
