ThanK yOu so much for responding so fast…do you have any videos on
replacing the cables for that handle carrier?

Sylvia Briones says:

Hi my name is sylvia And I have a 2005 x5. My Driver side door handle won’t
open the door, only from the inside…Would this be the same steps to
replace my driver side handle? Thanks 🙂

Mike Salman says:

TANKS MAN WAS VERY HELP-FULL

Robert Wu says:

Great! Mine is just broken. Do you have the latch for sale?

Pravin Mistry says:

Fantastic video… you did and excellent job in explaining in details with
techniques on how to do this. Kudos to you and your time and effort… well
done… keep those videos coming…

YANIN GARCIA says:

Is it the same proses on the driver side?

Jim Massey says:

Great video – a good idea to show us the part outside of the car. Here’s a
couple of tips that I missed in the video: 1. The plastic plug in the side
of the door has an inside part that must be pulled out before the outer
part can come out. I used a small, thin bladed screwdriver to get into the
two places that can just barely be seen to pry out that inner part. 2.
After removing the nut on the outside of the door, use the same thin bladed
screwdriver to separate the two parts slightly. That will free up the
handle to rotate downwards.

Brian Homsangpradit says:

Hey, Just wanted to say thanks for posting this! If was very helpful.

Ron Dijcks says:

Good job. I will be making this repair over the weekend. It would have been
great if you would have shown newbies like me where to pry the inside door
covering(s) off as well, and which clips if any need to be replaced. If you
have this vid already, maybe a link to it from this one would be helpful?
Again, thank you !

Zuby Zub says:

If you want you can email me directly to zuby34@gmail.com thanks

Steve Haukdahl says:

Hi, my front doors on my 06 X5 clang like metal to metal unlike the rear
doors have that nice low thud when you shut the doors. There is no black
foam missing or anything, so what can it be? Thanks

bimmermerchant says:

Thanks for your kind words and you are very welcome.

bimmermerchant says:

Thanks. Make sure you take your time during this removal process. We might
have cable that you are looking for, contact us to find out

bimmermerchant says:

available at my homepage, let me know if its not so i can provide my link.

bimmermerchant says:

pOLYkNOCK says:

Looks like someone tried breaking into my 2001 BMW X5, because the back
passenger handle behind the driver side stuck and not able to open the door
any more. Looks like the door handle was being pulled up real hard! Do you
think I need to replace the door handle or the entire thing?

JustinTrojan says:

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT – One of the best vids i have seen for
working on a beemer. i would love to see you do removal of the front bumper
on an E53 X5 to get at the cooling fan. Thanks for making the video guys.

Ron Dijcks says:

NOTE: The Rubber piece he’s talking about on the side of the door is
actually TWO pieces. The middle part pops out by using a small flat
screwdriver from underneath. This is the bubble part of that part. once you
pop that middle part out, the outside part comes out easily. This should
NOT be hard to take out.

shotoftequila says:

Bimmermerchant your videos are very helpful,I have. 2001 x5, with a door
problem, the passenger side door does not open from the outside, but it
does using the inside handle. I heard this is a common problem for these
cars. Any help would be appreciated.

bimmermerchant says:

Sounds like your handle carrier might need to get replaced. There is a
cable that connects from the handle carrier to the lock assembly on the
side of the door and it seems that the issue is somewhere in that path. You
won’t know unit you remove panel and handle carrier. Good luck.

Nathan Corona says:

thanks for the video ,real good

bimmermerchant says:

You are welcome. Glad we could help.

Munsuk Chan says:

Hi your video is very helpful . I have one Question what part in door
handle I need to change cause my 5 door won’t open.

bimmermerchant says:

If it sounds like metal with metal, i would guess that bolts holding
regulator to door frame is loose. I would recommend you remove panel and
pin point problem. Good luck

Jan Wiggo Wiger says:

“And it will fall down…” Not entirely correct, I’ve been stuck on getting
the handle out for 40 minutes now *arrrgg* Nice vid, but would be even
better if you see the actual process, not the description of the work after
you have done the work 🙂

Zuby Zub says:

My x5 has the same problem but driver’s door. Do you have a shop? If yes
where are you?

bimmermerchant says:

Im guessing you will have to replace handle and carrier just to be safe.
Let me know if you need parts.

Steve Haukdahl says:

Sorry, but where is the regulator? Thanks again!

Jihad Zamer says:
