This video is about Repairing the BMW MID LCD Radio. This will apply to all BMW’s with the MID display and also Range Rovers. I am using the Carbon Ribbon which can be done by hand. Silver Ribbon is done with a Bonding Press. Its important to use new Kapton Tape and to keep all parts clean of particles. If your going to try this yourself I would at least get two ribbons so that you have a second try if the first does not turn out right.

i have done a couple of these now and find it hard to get it 100% right first time, one this i havent done it kapton tape the facia before reassebly, but with a little adjustment, it usually get it done, so i am now thinking that the kaptop on the metal part of the facia is where i have been going wrong, i will replicat your method 100% and see how it goes
When you are soldering here is the tip you are using actually soldering the ribbon to the board or is it just melting the pre existing glue? Their is also a non bond type of replacement which would you recommend for me for a long fix i am very soldering capable and have done similar repairs to my gti cluster!
Why you cut the tree soldered plates at the back of main board(1:39min.)? Did I need to solder it to the board again?
