I have a 2001 e46 325 convertible and the factory window regulator on my passenger door has finally given out. I have priced the BMW part at around $500. I would consider a less expensive OEM aftermarket part but can’t seem to identify a good one among the various brands. And many seem to be junk. Can you recommend an aftermarket brand or am I stuck buying the expensive BMW part? Any options I may have overlooked? Thanks for the advice.

Calvin Evans says:

nice instructional, but without replacing the inner door seal water will get into the cabin – very common for them to fail.

I really hope you have installed beck the door holes cover well and glue it on place especially on bottom side. Else you do have a water leak from this door. You can use hot air gun for to glue it better. Common problem for E83 after intervention on the doors.

ytfever guy says:

fyi, if the motor is running it is likely the metal wire has severed the plastic guide plastic clip only. So you need only replace the plastic guide clip to fix. (2004 e83)

Very cool! Just had the same problem in my E83 X3 from 04/2004, because the white plastic part which moves the window plate broke in two parts.. Followed Your tutorial and now it's fixed 🙂 Thanks a lot, buddy! Btw, the official BMW workshop wanted over 250 Euros for this..
