I am having problems with my convertible top on my 645. It will not go up or down. The red light flashes on and off. On my dash, it states that the top is not closed, but it is closed.
Damsel in distress. Please help.
hey Zach, I did the reset and it allowed the top to come up, ( once I held the top up button, turned it two clicks and waited, the deck lid sunk in and then started to open like normal) once it was closed I couldn’t get it to open again…anything you could help with? It will allow the reset but it wont operate normally after that..
hi Zack! i got a semi-automatic cab, i have a problem with the top folding down….kinda wont go all the way down in his place…and when it needs to raise at the half way up the motor that lift’s the top just dies and i have to help it a little. then it goes alone normaly. Thanks

Hi,
I have problems with my top. I configure as you did in the video, press the switch down and wait to 10s, and lower the top cover, but to give up the switch does not work, dont close top. What can it be?? Thanks
hiya chap you able to give some advise my 328 vert top dosent seem to be re-syncing I have done exactly what the vid says once motors are re engaged and I hold button up it sucks the hatch down but then nothing happens after that
Hey Zack
I replaced my tonneau cover motor, however now when I try to reset my top I find that the tonneau cover is catching on my trunk lid. I didn’t do anything to the trunk lid or the tonneau cover. Any suggestions on how to realign them.
HELP!!! I used your video to sync my motors when the top was down thank you but….now my top is up and the light is blinking….PLEASE tell me you have an answer- trying to sell it tomorrow and the top isnt working of course.
the motor tightened the rear cover to tightly to pop the motor off easily, use a srewdriver to help pry the motor off
but be careful not to hurt anything in the process
Thank you thank you thank you! You have saved my boyfriend hundreds of pounds as he had already booked his car into a BMW dealership to re-engage the motor drives and re-synch them, but more importantly you have saved me a lot of heartache as he would have been impossible to live with because his beloved car wasn’t working properly!
First things first, thank you soooooo much for the video. Now the problem: we got the top into the storage compartment but can’t get the tunnel cover to lie flat. It’s not flush t. Also the motor that operates the tunnel cover seems locked in the open position. Please tell me there is a simple solution. Thx
hey man and idea why my tonneau motor wont click in? im following your steps but it seems that my motor just go’s in and out freely, no click. nothing, please help

Zach, I am trying to bring the cover down, motor works but stops at the point where the rear cover should pop open , I tried to release it manually as shown here but latch wont release. kindly advise.
Many thanks for good video, this was great help when i had little problems with one of those rods which drive roof back part up and down. Sync was easy to do.
There was little effor needed when i re-attached those motors, but all went well in the end.
Awesome video. I got my car last November and never knew exactly what was wrong with my top. Did everything in the video. And it went down I was excited. But I retried about an hour later to show my dad. And it wouldn’t go down. The motors stopped working and I can’t put the top down manually either. Any clue of what I might be able to do?
Zach, thanks for the video. Pulled the lever, rest the motors (although the tonneau cover took some force – out of line?) tried the key and button and get no sound or action of any kind. Any idea? I have a great mechanic for BMWs available, but I hate to spend money if it’s something simple I can do myself. Thanks.
Thank you for making the video and doing it right! It saved the day to the beach when the tonneau cover wouldn’t open. Your video was thorough enough to help me know what I was looking at and understand what caused the problem. The drive rod for the cover popped off because the circ-clip came off. And then, with your video, I was able to resync. Thanks again! (Ed in Houston)

Zach
Sorry for the late reply, any luck?
Make sure to place a weight on the tonneau cover, then engage the motors, close the trunk and “reset”!
Good luck!
Haha, thanks, Normally I get “NEO” from the matrix.
Great performance in Training Day with Denzel Washington. ;)
