DTechnic says:

I have a 5e46 fault code its same or different

Socrate Disciple's says:

My ..friend, you are COMPLETELY WRONG.
The disc itself has nothing to do with the dust!.. THE RECEPTOR of the LED light that fires up light through the prism (that transparent plastic..) on to the disc… IS READ by the receptor that SITS UNDERNEATH those lines and reads every single light that is reaching light sensitive receivers which are line-up in a strip!
And that sits UPSIDE-DOWN and is much more prone to get the dust because is NOT moving. A single bit speck of dust is enough to throw an error..

Thank you for dismantling all that just to show us how we can get there, but you are wrong.
I can bet you never got an error about steering angle sensor on that car!
Bye..

Legislated Anarchy says:

This is an excellent repair video. BMW is certainly doing everything they can to both guarantee that people are unable to work on these vehicles without extensive knowledge AND that there will be an overabundance of things that will fail.

Jess Z says:

Does this work for 3 series as well?

Dragoş Bârgăoanu says:

Smart demonstration! Congrats!

Jeff-Stevenson says:

I have a 2007 BMW e90 320 I touring, I have recently changed a wheel bearing on the passengers rear and now I have the same three lights, where is the speed sensor located please

Filip Giric says:

My sterring wheel is not on the right angle, when i drive straight stering wheel is moved to the left side, it looks terrible and i want to fix that, can this method help me? Sometimes i have steering sensor light on dashboard, small yellow steering wheelc icon with little exclamation mark? Any solution? I have e60 530i 2004

Lobo Leung says:

Same issue on my E60 525i. Did the fix by myself and the warning lights disappeared! Thanks for sharing!!!

The Hearing Dock says:

Hi. my 13 GT had The Advance Track needs service light come on and also has no power steering. I was told by auto repair shop the code reader said it was a Ford Steering Wheel angle Position Sensor. Is this the same thing as the Clock-Spring ? I can't find the Position, so maybe the Clock spring does both ??? Thanks

Fatih AYAR says:

hello when I leave my bmw steering wheel is going to the right, we could not solve what we have done .. does it cause a bad angle sensor?

Brandon Hall says:

Can this problem also happen to a 2003 530i

Rashed Hassan says:

Hey Nathan, do you know if the process is similar for an F10 5 series?

Radian Miller says:

Hello Nathan I have an e60 545 with active steering light on since steering rack rebuild. I don't have anything to read codes ATM but just curious to what you think could be.

Anthony R says:

Hi, my green dot and arrow weren’t aligned when I took it off. Can that the issue? Common sense tells me yes that the green mark and the arrow are there for a reason. I had the abs light and steering angle codes, so this is my reason for doing this job.

JRtheNormie says:

I just want to give you a massive thank you for making this video and walking through this process. My E92 continuously displays traction control lights and the OBD reader and app I have tell me it's an issue with the steering angle sensor. I tried calibrating by removing the battery and turning the wheel full lock as people suggested but to no avail, so I'll try this over the weekend

sharabi21 says:

Is this the same for a 2002 X5, 4.6is ? Thx

James Hartline says:

I think I made a mistake while having the steering pitman arm off (engine swap) as something made a click noise. Fast forward a few days later and the airbag light is on. Is there something internal that can only spin in one direction so many times before it breaks and is it something I can fix vs replacing the whole clock spring?

Dow Jones says:

I got Steering angle sensor fault and adaptive headlight fault. Are they interconnected? I just removed headlights and replaced bulbs. Never ending problems of E60 saga

Cee Tee says:

how similar is the e39 to this?

Roman says:

How did you recalibrate it

beau claridge says:

Hey was doing this to my 07 e60 and the arrow and dot on the steering column are on opposite sides could this be why my TCS keeps popping on?
