FCP says:

We’ve got another repair for you this fine Monday morning:
Comment below if you have any video requests for parts we sell.

Alex Frank says:

@325xitgrocgetter That’s exactly it, on a sedan this same repair is a snap.

325xitgrocgetter says:

Zach, this is a great DYI for Touring owners….Seems like the most
challenging part is taking apart the interior.

inktoxicated says:

fanstastic diy. thatr a lot of shit to remove to get to 2 fuckn bolts.
uggg. please do the same diyon the e60 sedan!!

181florinel says:

Turing is much more complicate than sedan, fine job , oem Sachs struts
seems to last longer.

jack1826 says:

good video. I am going to do it this weekend.

Michał Michalski says:

Thank you very much.I done all with my ipad and your movie.

FCP Euro says:

I’ve never seen one that’s half an inch thick, it’s just a simple seal to
keep some water out.

TheGuitaristAndre says:

Is it the same for an E36?

18iser says:

It is very normal to be able to move the shock up and down by hand! New
shocks do that as well!

ceasargarzautsa says:

Correct. Awesome tutorial. thanks

jwmpayne says:

I have ordered Bilstein shocks here in Eu. Sad to say it didn’t came with a
washer that goes with the bolt attached to the lower shocks. Is it safe?

Rip Wick says:

dose car need to be lifted???

MrTedco JRi says:

Hello Mr. Im in Fla. Have 1 ? Where do i get cheaper bump stops and
absorbers for the rear shock or strut for 1996 e36 328i? BMW sales at $50 –
$75 dollars each.

alyraver says:

can you done one to show how rear colis can be changed, my 2003 320cd needs
it done asap

millertimebmw says:

Thats the truth!

FCP Euro says:

Some of the trim pieces might be a little different but overall it should
be just about the same.

Bo Hanan says:

Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurry…

Nizar Drou says:

Thanks mate, that was a great guide. It took about ~1 hr to remove all the
trim but I couldn’t remove the 18mm bolt that holds the shock (rust fused
it completely!). I’ll see if I can get it free using “more imaginative”
methods!

320dj says:

Took just over one and half hours without rushing. 165,000 miles and with
the new shocks all’s back to normal. Thanks for that, you made it look easy
and following your guide it was.

FCP Euro says:

You can replace them one at a time if the others are still in good
condition.

FCP Euro says:

@320dj That sounds great, I think it took us about the same amount of time.

Bo Hanan says:

Had to tear half the interior apart to get that dam shock. Great video
though. Where is the video for E39 M5 shock replacement????

Dufrais Constantinople says:

one of the best tutorials on earth. cheers guy

FCP Euro says:

The washer provides a barrier that helps keep the nut tight and away from
most movement, it’s more likely it could back out without that little
washer, might want to consider grabbing one from a hardware store and
replacing it.

Jasmin Gadzo says:

Good job it really sucks to order parts from USA price is very good but UPS
killing us with brokerage fees for Canada .

1980e12mpl says:

Never unhook positive battery terminal without unhooking ground first.
Ever.

xtr3mezer0 says:

hey, I seen a video on youtube with your shock mount repair kit, the gasket
was about half and inch thick. Is that the actual size of your gaskets for
your shock mounts?

Stuart Irwin says:

can I just replace one for do they need to be replaced as a set.

MrTedco JRi says:

Send answer to email to mrtedco@gmail.com. Thanks yall

xtr3mezer0 says:

there is a video if you just youtube “bmw e36 rear strut mount” the green
gasket looks a lot thicker than the one you use in this video. Its the same
kit as well.

d3v3ouzm1ndz says:

i honestly didnt know if you were going to get to the bolt in this video…

Jonathon D says:

Most use a sedan for tutorials. At least that’s what I like to see. There’s
no similarities to the touring and sedan when doing the rear shocks.

FCP Euro says:

Check out the link in the description, FCP has bump stops for $19.55
