the operation of the disa is to change the intake runner length. long runner for low end torque and open for short runners at high rpm

Hector Espana says:

Hey Nathan, I used the rebuild kit on my 04 X5 , before I did it I had an issue starting my car almost every time, I'd have to give it gas so it would turn on, but now that I repaired the flap she cracks right away, now did you you're X5 have that same symptom? And also do you think that might be a reason why rpms would drop and the "trans failsafe mode" message would pop up?

JustinTrojan says:

Ugh, just pulled mine out and the flap was broken and jammed it. When I finally got it off the pin was missing. I suppose I have to assume its inside. Any suggestions?

i have a 2001 bmw 525i it runs great had a coil problme change all of them and still it will start missing like it's running on 5 cyl and if i turn it off and back on it will run fine ! any suggestions

Cue Rock says:

im getting all the codes for a disa issue. I pulled mine off and everything on it is tight, works fine…. but the vacuum wont last longer than 2 seconds…. My car starts up like crap, knocking and banging, but once it warms up after 15 seconds its fine. Also if I unplug the MAF it starts up with out an issue at all (not driving it like that, just idling)…. Could the Disa still be the problem? Bad diaphragm? Or should I investigate other issues before spending 150 on a new one? Thanks.

Lukas says:

Hows the eBay kit holding up? Do you know which seller it was as well?

Mark Biby says:
