This is a very common issue with owners of the 335i on the BIMMERFEST
forum. It happens shortly after installing new brake pads and/or rotors as
well (along with a new or original sensor). It does not do it cold and only
after heating up. After I take it to the dealer, it is good for about 800
miles and then starts screeching again. It happens from stop to about 15-20
mph then you can’t hear it. I guess you have not had to deal with this
issue much but appreciate your quick response.

BMTroubleU says:

if your rear right brake specifically is squeaking then it could be one of
two things- most likely the head of the brake wear sensor is rubbing on the
disc and causing the noise. this works twofold for bmw in that it acts as
an audible first warning system for customers and its really annoying so it
makes people agree to change their brakes sooner than is actually required.
less likely you may have nongenuine pads, misadjusted handbrake or brake
dust cause the sqeak. let me know how you go mate

sptt144 says:

Lloyd, not related to this clip unfortunately but do you have any solve for
the squeaking rear right brake issue on the 335i? Thanks so much for these
videos!!!

BMTroubleU says:

yea, sorry i meant to do that ages ago. the injector retaining bracket
doesnt matter that much, around 30nm, similar to a sump plug. its been a
while, so i cant be 100% but i think the fuel lines were around 24nm. if
you could please call to confirm this at a dealership and reply back to me
to ensure this is correct i would greatly appreciate it brian

Brian Williams says:

Can you please post the torque information for the bolt that holds the
retaining clip and fuel line nuts? I am about to do this job and want to do
it the right way. Thanks.

BMTroubleU says:

contact a dealership and ask if either your hpfp or injectors are included
in the recall. depending on how nice they are you should get trade price
parts/free labour/etc. if your car isnt part of the recall get a fault code
read out to provide some direction

MrDuyy says:

Can I have your email? Ill send you my contact number and if you could call
me when ever your free so I can try explain the problem. My email is
Duyy_@hotmail.com Thank you so much for the quick reply

Joseph Newkirk says:

Hi, I live in NY and I purchased a 2009 BMW 535i xdrive and I’m getting
misfires and the code is p0304 misfire cylinder 4 I put all new plugs in
stock oem Bosch plugs. Same problem same code came back. I swapped the
ignition coil to another cylinder and it still came back misfire cylinder 4
so I’m guessing its the fuel injector. Can I just swap it with a used one I
found online part #13537585261-09? Can I just swap them or what else is
involved like ecu programming or need seals replaced thanks

BMTroubleU says:

no worries mate, drive safe

BMTroubleU says:

“yea… no” is what i was going for. same same. thanks ian

BMTroubleU says:

you can do it without, i just found it easier with. good luck

BMTroubleU says:

fair enough, my suspicion is that the ‘quantity compensation’ is more for
emissions. it may cause issues if the quantities are way out from one
another, but you may have gotten it close enough to work well. i still
recommend getting the coding anyway just in case

BMTroubleU says:

emailed you yesterday mate. check your junk box

Ian Cheah says:

Thanks mate. Got the answer from the bmw forum as well. I’ll be tackling
this tmr, but couldn’t find a long pick to pull out the injector. Hopefully
I’ll be right.

pwnstarization says:

now once u replace the injectors do thay need programmed? or can u just
drive and thay will program on there own?

alpinweiss says:

Thanks for the awesome video! What do you consider on my rough idle
issue..? Its misfiring when cold starting, otherwise works perfectly. Coils
are new. Injectors or hpfp?

ocd234 says:

I have an issue on an 07 328xi. Error code P0201, injector on 1st cyliner.
Intermittent rough idles, sluggish sometimes, etc. Changed the plug and
ignition coil and getting ready to order an injector. Do they need to be
coded to the ECU or can i just swap it out and be done with it?

m4nikm4ti says:

u need a tripod 😛

MrDuyy says:

Are you from sydney? I have an 08 335i thats buggered. Need a few words of
wisdom. Will even pay you for advice!

ianthegreatt says:

“Don’t let any of the petrol get on the electrical or coil. You’re supposed
to take them out, but ya know” <-- haha Great video.

BMTroubleU says:

you’ll definitely need new seals. there are two seals- a crush washer and a
ptfe black seal. new ones come with these seals, but is the one youve found
online new? and is it a good injector or bad? the part number suggests that
its pretty new, so thats a point in its favour. i have just been speaking
to a guy in the comments below who put new injectors in without programming
the ‘quantity compensation’ numbers and he didnt have any running issues,
but you will have to get it done at some point

ocd234 says:

I swapped it out two days ago, seems to be running fine. I picked up the
parts from the dealer, I’ll ask about the coding. Between that and a
positioning motor on the transfer case, it was a long day. Thanks for the
follow up

Baltahfeek says:

I have a 2010 335i but never received a recall for the injectors, I’ve
received one for the HPFP a couple of years ago. Do I have to change the
piezo injectors myself?

BMTroubleU says:

yes, this can cause misfire, rough idle and make engine lights come on when
youre thrashing it

BMTroubleU says:

no, they cant just be straight swapped- they require coding for injection
quantity compensation, as i said in the video. requires a dealership to do
it, not sure if snap-on scanners can do this for bmw’s

Joseph Newkirk says:

Sorry but I posted this from the wrong account. I am Joseph and I asked the
question not Jeanne Thanks again!

josephmen82 says:

Could that be why the car is misfiring.

pimpmegatron says:

Hi I have an 07 bmw 335i & the car seems to run fine. No misfire, car seems
to run smooth. But when the throttle is all the way to the floor the engine
light comes on. According to bmw the fuel pump has been replaced with
injectors. What would you suggest? I get code cc-is 29. Thank You

BMTroubleU says:

cheers ian. #1 in at the front of the engine mate, closest to the drivebelt

BMTroubleU says:

still get your injectors done if they are part of the recall and find out
whether or not your high pressure fuel pump is also part of the recall.
there have been guys that get both of these done at the dealership for free
(but it depends on your circumstances)

BMTroubleU says:

dont do it yourself if its covered under recall. if you want to know
whether you are part of the recall just contact the service advisor from
your nearest bmw dealership. he will need the last 7 digits of your vin and
if his system doesnt specifically come up with your car needing the recall
then it wont need doing. your build date may be before they changed the
injectors and started having problems so it mightnt effect yours. but give
him a call just in case, it mightve been added recently.

BMTroubleU says:

i usually peddle my advice for free mr duyy, just let me know what problem
your having mate. i used to be in wollongong but im in central nsw atm.
