Ive got a E46 2001 model with a bussiness tape deck(changer in the boot),
since ive had the car ive noticed the drivers front speaker would sometimes
completely stop working, then it would randomly start working at any point
during my drive(or sometimes not at all), then a few months on the front
passenger speaker is doing exactly the same.

Any ideas? ive heard it could be the amp in the actual stereo? if so could
i just connect up a random head unit just to see if the two front speakers
work, if they do then great, if not then its the speakers i guess?

Jason Pruden says:

Thank you. Much money saved removing all this myself and installing a phone
connection.

my car is a 2000 323ci with the harmon kardon sound system and business cd
in it and i am going to check the back of the unit to see if there is an
aux input if not would you recommend swapping it out with a cassette tape
unit like in the video to be able to use a cassette with and aux cable from
my last car? that just seemed like the easy way out for me what do you
think?

JR R says:

I like the BASIC air conditioning system.

Could you help me please my 316i 2002 have cd changer in boot but shows no
cd but cds are loaded correctly please help me out

Thomas Miller says:

Thanks you. Used on recently purchased e46, previous own removed Sirus Sat
radio, didn’t plug radio antenna back in before sale.

demc7 says:

I’m pretty sure the CD changer plug is only an input, not an output. Check
how the amp is wired on BMWs with the DSP or Harmon Kardon amp. I think
there might be a line-out in the harness at the back of the radio that you
can tap into, but needs some research. If not, going through the front
speakers should be ok, I think the BMW amps only take the signal from the
front speakers anyway, not the rears.

B95M says:

Is it possilbe to use the CD changer as an output for an amplifier? I want
to use the aux for an input, but is there any way to get an output from the
radio as well? Without going through one of the speakers?

Lasse Andresen says:

Nice! This helped! I’m looking to buy a E46, but wondered how to remove
this, so I can put in a Pioneer I have from my old E34.

LucasSkynet says:

I would recommend that you try to turn on the radio before attaching
everything back in place.

demc7 says:

Canon 6D, but most SLR cameras would match this video.

Andy But says:

Thanks, very helpful.

Fin Elliott says:

Good video, great accent.

Luis Diaz says:

oh ok i have no sound on all my speakers and i just replace my amp

Luis Diaz says:

Does anyone know if the radio can still turn on if there is a blown fuse
the one on the back of the radio? My car has no sound at all my radio turn
on but no sound I already replaced the factory amp and still no sound

demc7 says:

If that fuse is blown, the radio doesn’t turn on at all, the clock doesn’t
even display on the radio.

Viktor Szabó says:

What kind of camera did you use? I like the quality of the video!
