I experienced the same issue in my 325is-2. Turns out that replacing a few fuses fixed the problem completely.

how do you know if regulator or alternator

Lasse Elbech says:

It is a amazing condition on this engine compartment, really!

I saw this, because I want to make my own alternator in mint condition, before I mount it on my M50 engine again. – I’m building an M50 engine to put in in my 88 E30 :).

nice colour sheme, I have chosen a metallic dark gray instead. – Great video though – just wanted to give you a heads up.!

I forgot to say that your videos are the best in youtube, you explain things very clear, do you have a course or something to learn more about bmws?

Humberto Navarro says:

mybimmerspace love your e36 how to vids keep up the good work….was wondering if you would do more vids in the area of common and well known problems with the E36’s and maintenance…like final stage unit for the blower..heater valve unit replacing automatic Transmission Fluid or differential axle or a head gasket …PS do you drive that e36? looks mint

Thats amazing

mybimmerspace says:

That’s funny I thought 20k by the looks of it. The real mileage is 293,000 although there have been repairs done to keep in this condition. It’s hard to believe it when looking at this car. Thanks, that was interesting

mybimmerspace says:

Eastpantherbenz, Thanks for asking, just curious as to how many miles you think are on the car.

bimmerman3 says:

How many miles are on that car?

Vafa1, it sounds like you have a device draining your battery. Batteries do not do so well when they have been fully discharged a few times. You can do a few test to see if your alternator is charging. Using a voltmeter check battery voltage and record the number, then start the engine and check battery voltage again. What you should see is an increase in voltage while the engine is running somewhere around 1 to 2 volts. If that looks good then I would recommend a parasitic draw test.

I have an E46 330i and the only performance item I have is the Signature Motoring performance CAI for about $160. The performance kit adds around 13.5HP on the dyno, sounds freaking great, and installs in under 30 minutes. Highly recommended.

-13.5 HP increase
-Lifetime filter
-SOUND AWESOME
-30 min. install time

Aside from the power gain, the SOUND is amazing at higher RPM but sounds normal in regular
