BMW most German cars you have to code battery if not more issues
$500 for the dealer to exchange the battery is ridicious! Having to "relearn" the new battery is nothing more than a way to have to take the car to BMW (unless you have an expensive scanner)! My friends who have BMWs are always having issues! Some are simple, but it's to the dealership which I understand is NEVER less than $800.00! LOVE your channel. Only negative is you are NOT in North Carolina!
Great video as always. That is a clean beamer. My 83 year old neighbor has a convertible, same color as this one. 2 years ago, he asked me and my son would we install a lambda door kit. We did ,but what a job, it was nothing like the Camaro we done. He is happy with the results, and we were happy that that was our last lambda doors install. 1- did the owner tried to charge the battery then measure the current drawn by the car after turning off the engine & let modules sleep?
2- did you check for any dtc or a message popped up in instrument cluster about a defective battery?
Those questions have to be answered before taking any action.

BMW is a good car if your brother is a mechanic!
500 is a good price for OEM BMW battery, because just regular car like mine 99 honda CRV, a good aftermarket battery will cost you from 170 to 200, just part, you can go with 80 or 100 dollar battery but you will have problems, first in winter, the cheap battery will not start the car at cold winter, second problem, the car alternator will be working too hard to compensate for that cheap battery, that will resulte in shortening the life of your alternator, tbird problem, the cheap battery will not last for a year, 8 to a year if you lucky. I said that from experience with my 99 honda CRV, cheap 100 dollar battery lasted for 4 months, that why learned my lesson and I don't go with cheap battery anymore.
****BMW is not for me, unexessary over engineering. If that was a Lexus ES350, your brother would have been on his way.

Hi Deo, when you were removing the old battery, you removed the positive cable connection first instead of the negative, is this the procedure to follow with this fanciful BMW?
