'Screws' and 'Sockets' are actually called bolts
'Bolts' are called nuts
Instead of repeating yourself many times, a discussion about battery registration would have been more instructive and useful.
Congratulations on good graphics !

I have a 535i I’m trying to remove negative terminal without the alarm system going off. How does one do it please help

In my f10 528i xdrive I had to replace and do registration of new AGM battery in engine controller, because BMW comfort module didn't sleeped other modules after 30s of switch off the engine. That was a reason that new battery was almost fully discharged after a night. I bought on aliexpress cheap chinese BMW OBD2 service interface and registered new battery via OBD2 slot. Comfort module started to sleeped all electronic modules and car systems after 30s from off the engine, as it should usually do before. And everything is fine with a new AGM battery up till now. Remember, You have to register new battery after change! Other vise your electric car systems and electric for instance electric cooling pump will not be sleeped and new battery will die very soon.

Any help please

The mechanic told me that if the battery is not BMW brand you don't need to register it like varta or bosch.
Is that right??
I JUST REPLACED THE battery yesterday and still " increased battery discharge.. massage is active!

Any information to share would be greatly appreciated !!

Thank

i tried this and my car caught on fire.

Very nice and detail video. I thought when you’re changing the battery on a BMW, you should be using a battery pack with a memory cord attached to the ODB port to maintain power to the CPU when you disconnect the battery. Please verify?

AlRfree says:

You also need to insert one ventilation hose to the right of the battery, opposide to the one that you inserted. Look at the min 8:15

Kjartan Drafnarson says:

AGM is NOT a Gel battery, just to be clear.

Thank you for this easy tutorial!

非常不错的视频,需要添加一个电池来为止信息丢失吗

André Linhares says:

KISSMETT says:

Where did you guys this battery ?

I was under the impression that a new battery had to synchronized with the cars computer prior to using it. I suspect my cars battery might have a parasitic drain but I can't determine where it's coming from so I have to replace the battery about once per year.

Tebogo Motlhale says:

the design and the whole process of so many affixation points and attachments and bolts, i must say . . . it is EXTREMELY and UNNECESSARILY cumbersome when all you are trying to achieve is to remove an old battery and put a new one in !!! they made such a BIG STORY out of a rather trivial job 🙁 🙁 🙁 They should have instead created high resistance metal spring plates that simply snap the battery into place to secure it from all sides, WITHOUT so many weird and unwieldy attachments and the use of so many bolts and nuts !!

So first and foremost…Thanks for the video. It was helpful. I did the swap yesterday and matched up the new battery with the old….original battery. My car is a 535i xdrive from 2011, so my battery was 10-11 years old!!!! I tried to keep power on by using the positive post under the hood and I used a battery tender / charger to keep power to it. I was careful of the terminals on the battery in the trunk while doing this. I believe that I still lost power as I would have to guess that the seconds positive terminal on the battery at a guess must go to power the computer and so i lost power. I know because I had to reset my clock, but all other functions were there. I replaced my battery with the closest Cold Cranking amp etc battery that I could which I got from the local Interstate battery dealer. The dealer knows batterys trust me. He was the owner and knew the exact sizes etc. so it was as close as we could get. Just slightly more CCA.

Manan Joshi says:

Good video, but you cut the video where you are actually removing the negatives and positives.

Mr Dustie says:

Ok but how about resetting computer after you install new battery

Does BMW F10 3.0 have a small battery?
