Hey, great video thanks so much, quick question to any dension gateway
users out there if i decide to plug in my device using usb can i use the
actual ipod or iphone to change songs ?, or do i have to go through idrive.
Also if i do plug in the ipod or iphone through usb does it show track
names and artist info ?

but my dension 500s bt dual refuses to work. I cannot click the cd button
in my i drive. Power is on signal wires are ok but it doesnt work. what
could be the problem? i think i shouldn t need coding because i allredy had
cd-changer

Hey really liked that you uploaded this video, I have been looking around
for something like this product and finally found it. My car is CD Changer
prepped but since it doesn’t have it its not coded. I know you have a video
explaining how to code in the AUX but not the CD Changer…how much more
different is it to code it in???

Great video Roskinc. I have a 2005 E63, 645ci bluetooth enabled from the
factory with a factory 6 disc changer. Does the BT with the Dension affect
my factory bluetooth? I like the factory BT and don’t want it to get
messed up. If so do you recommend going with an older Dension that doesn’t
have BT? Also do you recommend keeping the changer or just delete it. I’d
rather just use my iPhone.
Hi @roskinc. I have S694A Provisions for BMW 6 CD changer on my E60 525i.
Is that the same thing as prewiring for a CD changer like on your car? I
definitely don’t have the changer itself. That I know.
Hi, I purchased the Dension 500S BT for my BMW E60 530i 2004/5 model. It
came with the six CD changer then it stopped working. Therefore, opted for
this option. I did everything exactly the way you described which was so
easy. Now the iPod started charging. Yet, on the iDrive console under CD1
it doesn’t recognize the Dension and I cannot go in to it. But the single
CD player works when a CD is inserted. Then I noticed the dip switches were
set for a Merc. Then I changed the same to BMW settings. Yet it does not
work. I noticed on the instruction manual it says to program the phone
option in the car. If so I will have to take it to the Dealer. Please help
me on this if not my investment will be at stake. Tks.

How much was your Dension
I followed the installation AS IS, everything works perfectly, except i get
the SOS malfunction and the phone and Bluetooth are dead. Did you get into
this situation of Optical loop not being complete causing this issue?.

they are very similar, as they both worked great with the iphone 5, both
Bluetooth hands free and streaming, USB, both have excellent sound quality,
Dension has a friendlier user interface, you can view more options when it
comes to the iphone such as selection songs, playlist, and the grom just
plays music you select from the phone itself. price wise, the grom is
slightly lower priced, even when buying the extra stuff, the dension comes
with everything.
My car got the stupid integrated bluetooth phone, so I got bluetooth but it
doesnt support mobiles…
Okay great! I emailed you about ordering an aux cable but then I saw the
Grom vid and I think I would rather do that and integrate my iphone 5 with
the spec dock, a lot more expensive but I think it will be worth it! And
one more question if you don’t mind do you still sell the LED sport mode
unlock button? If so I would love to buy that in the near future and sorry
for the false order on the aux cable!

I have an existing CD changer to delete with this MOD. So this may not
involve taking the dash apart right, sort of plug and play right? Also,
like you I already have Bluetooth on my BMW. I like the Bluetooth music
streaming feature though. So if you’re connected to Bluetooth for music
streaming and you get a call what happens? You can’t be connected to two
Bluetooth connections right?
How do I know which cable to buy on ebay? Which one is the best? Also, Do
you know of any shops on the East Coast that can do these installations and
program it?
i dont think you can use the original mic with the dension but if you have
bluetooth already (like i do) you shouldnt have to worry about using it
with dension.
