No I don’t have someone to hold it like I said above I travel to work all
the time so I don’t want to be rude and make the customer stand there the
entire time filming me. It was winter when I was doing this too, but the
customer came out and held it for that minute while I pulled it out of the
tank. Plus I’m more of a first person point of view which makes it easier
to see exactly where I’m going kinda like seeing it through your eyes when
you would do it.

Have you ever had to fix the back lighting for the radio and climate
control? I just bought a used 2000 323i and of course only drove it during
the daytime. At night when the headlights are on you cannot see any of the
numbers on the radio (presets etcetera) or the climate controls. Of course
the dealership wants me to drop it off to them. thanks. maryken2@gmail.com

Thanks for posting! I was wasting all my time looking underneath the car
after my coworker told me his was located down by the tank. His was
obviously an older model!

SYNTHETICDARKNESSRX8 says:

Actually pretty simple other then the connectors for the hoses where the
hardest part and didn’t want to budge lol.

SYNTHETICDARKNESSRX8 says:

They are about 60-80 years old and still doing it this way with no problems
just like their parents have been doing also. You get more chemicals
drinking from plastic bottles and eating from containers and a million
others things everyday so I’m not worried about getting gas on my hands for
a couple minutes lol.

ThePariss333 says:

a recomendation: have extra rugs around, that help with mess.

Muhammad Shaheer says:

Its not that easy as it looks

ThePariss333 says:

You are right about drinking from plastic bottles and eating from
containers, but afortunality I dont do any thing of that, I dont even drink
cow milk, I drink soymilk, never drink any soda or alcohol at all, only a
littel red wine my wife offer to me. Appreciate your video. I have a Q:
This pump is the same in the Hyundai Elantra 2008 and the Dealer dont
replace fuel filter, untill the Pump is gone. What you do about the fuel
filter, do you replace, do you recomend it? Thank you

SYNTHETICDARKNESSRX8 says:

Thanks. I’d replace the filter especially if it has not been done before.
Usually pretty simple to do. We’re gonna have to get some blackberry wine
now since you mentioned it lol.

ThePariss333 says:

Dont you have some one to hold the camara? is terrible to see it like this.
just put it in some place, so it does not move.

Ivan Obando says:

I thank you for your recommendation, I will buy the filter, to change it,
no problem for the time you took to answer me, what is important is that
you told me, what I have to do, have a good weekend thanks for your help.

SYNTHETICDARKNESSRX8 says:

Also if you haven’t done so a good set of plugs and oil change with filter.

SYNTHETICDARKNESSRX8 says:

Thank you. I would of got the water pump video, but it was 12 degrees
outside and the camera wasn’t working right lol.

SYNTHETICDARKNESSRX8 says:

I do think quite a bit before doing something that’s one of many reasons I
got certified. I have to travel to work on cars so I don’t get the luxury
of a heated garage or lifts. This customers car broke down on the
interstate and he had it towed home where I worked on it after driving 2
hours. He just filled up with gas and drove a bit before having troubles.
As for the gloves I am one of those people that can’t wear them and work on
things. Families been doing this for years.

Really helpful, Thanks for the video!!

British330 says:

Great job thanks for this Vid. Guys like you keeping guys like me out of
the bmw work shop 🙂

SYNTHETICDARKNESSRX8 says:

I recommend changing the fuel filter also for that piece of mind. Depending
on the car at the time it could be built into the pump itself, but if it’s
this car then it has a good size filter around the middle of the car on the
drivers side. Sorry for taking so long just got back from vacation.

SYNTHETICDARKNESSRX8 says:

Never done it on a BMW, but other cars will have some form of lights back
there that might be able to be changed unless it’s integrated into the unit.

Ivan Obando says:

the basis of this video, change the pump gasolona of the same model of car,
apart from anything else, it has to do to run the car, maybe change the
filter, not really sure, I appreciate your recommendation, thanks

ThePariss333 says:

Your tank if full of gasoline, you never think before you do some thing?
Why you didn’t wait untill your gas tank was half or less and then do the
job? wow. What about glove? no body use glove to do this? safety first.

SYNTHETICDARKNESSRX8 says:

I prefer paper towels since they can absorb rather quickly. Usually I’ve
only had a few that will leak a bunch of gas when pulled, but if you pay
attention you can stop them from doing this while you remove it from the
car.
