The problems with home repairs is you never have the right tool for the job when things gets nasty. So you have to choise to assemble the things again, get out and buy them, wait…..or you can just use the best available tool you have. The angle grinder does a good job in many situation. but yes the splitter could maybe also have done it

Your right, it’s absolutely the best to use one. Only “excuse” I or we may have is that I worked so many years on so many cars that you get the “feel” for torque. But this is not as safe as using a torque wrench….I fully agree with you.

also while your out shopping for tools, get a torque wrench!..multiple bolts on the same thing i.e your wheel, need tightening to the same torque, instead of guess work. esp on an alloy! ouch

you mean anti-roll bar drop links. and why use an angle grinder. get yourself some nut splitters. 6 quid on amazon, and only takes 2 mins max per nut 🙂
