my e46 balljoint and control arm is different. the video by auto parts
direct is the same as at least my 2003 e46…
buhrrito is absolutely right. The bushing installation presented here is
amateur at best. Need the proper tools!
good video, but why remove the middle ball joint fromt the arm, then mount
it to the car, and then mount the arm to the bushing? Can’t you just leave
it on the arm?
great video. I found on the passenger side, if you slide the exhaust shield
above the bushing out it makes it much easier to unbolt the bushing bracket.
Nice STAHLWILLE Tools 😉
How do you get the ball joint nuts tight? I have the 330i 2wd same concept
??
a clunking noise when going over bumps or turning….also if your steering
wheel is shaking.
What size Pickle Fork do I need?
Don’t work hard, Work smart ? No wonder employees prefer to hire
“Russians/Mexicans/God know who else” over Americans, because those are
only good for watching football games, drinking beer, having sex, and work
smart.
breake disc is in bad condition =)
Steering rack knuckle link
” install bushing by tapping it on using a soft face hammer…..” BAM BAM
BAM lol
You can find them on E-bay from $150 for the set brand new.
who much is the cost for replace the lower control arm?, im asking for
stimate and the mecanic say 940.00 dollars , plus labor.
do a wheel alignment
IS the rear wheel drive the same ?
Hi, i got a mechanic to replace my wishbone with balljoint already on it,
in my 2000 E46 318ci, now when im turning a hard right, my wheel locks up
and doesnt spring back to the centre like it used too? Any ideas what it
may be anybody?
hi flash, it sounds as though a couple possible things could have
happened/been damaged, or incorrectly installed. very first thing i would
check is to make sure the control arm bushings were correctly installed.
they are marked L&R, but i have seen them put on wrongs sides before. also,
if the ball joint to wheel hub knuckle pivot was bent even slightly, that
would cause a binding.
Would the lower control arm gong out make the car hard to drive straight at
freeway speeds. I don’t mean the alignment is out (it doesn’t pull to one
side. It is just hard to find that sweet spot in the center of the wheel at
70 mph
Very good DIY, thanks!
is it possible to replace a wishbone with new ball joints and bushes etc
already installed on the new wishbone?
why it needs to replace the lower arms??? what is the basis of problem of
replacing lower arms?
