ABS Light on My BMW E92 M3 – How to Fix It Cheap

When the ABS light comes on it could mean big money. You could be replacing a computer or an ABS pump…But more likely than not the problem lies within a faulty Wheel Speed Sensor. Here is how I diagnosed the issue and replaced the sensor.

the only issue i had was the cv axel going bad will cause your abs sensor to fault.

I have an 08 bmw 730d and the abs light is on now… the scan says that the abs module (700$) needs to be replaces. The transmission starts axting weird too and ive been told that its all conected to each other. When the abs module has a failure , it effects the transmission too… is that true?

Master Bruce says:

How did you know which sensor it was?

th tan says:

I’ve a problem on the left front. What code reader did you use to diagnose this? The dealer if charging me like $130 usd for the sensor and I feel like I can do it myself.

Dee Jaaay says:

I had this issue and my car was stuttering when accelerating. What does that mean?

Fabikys says:

J D'Auria says:

Next on my to-do list. I hit a bump the other day on the higway: speedometer freaked out, cluster lights started flashing, gong acoustics going off. Guess I need to replace speed sensors next!

Narsoun says:

1:40 where do you put the jackstand? I didn’t know there is a another jack point, I’m always struggling lol

Ethan Huang says:

How do you test for direction not just speed for the wheel/direction sensor?

Jack Turner says:

Hi there! I have an E90, with the same lights. When the car was scanned did it come up with the left rear sensor fault or did you have to go into the live data to check it?

iTz PrO says:

Joshua Maclin says:

Completely off topic but the video is so good I figured I might as well ask. Im currently having to replace the battery on my e92 335i and im wondering if I have the stay with the AGM or could I go with a cheaper wet? Also do you think going to the dealer on something like this is a must (aside from the whole battery registration piece) im reading a lot of mixed reviews on aftermarket vs oem batteries.

TheNoobComment says:

Wish mine was that easy. Replaced all my brake sensors and 4 of my and sensors. Still on. Last I haven't looked was steering angel sensor from the steering wheel and the abs module itself. Darn it.

Obediah Anderson says:

Can you tell me what codes were coming for the wheel speed sensors? I am getting the same fault lights. It codes 5DF0 and 5DF1 when I do it with the OBD reader. Thanks.

TIM Cheou says:

Its not solve in few days the message will come back.

dams86 says:

GetSchwifty. says:

sgfreak96 says:

What kind of scan tool did you use to diagnose the issue?

Promise • says:

Mine turned out to be the right rear speed sensor and the wheel bearing. Was $600 at the shop. Never again going there
