– yes it is – was the first pumpe duse, is the 115bhp pd
AJM is not pump duse…
I just said that meaning that the old cars are much simpler =)
The ALH motors didn’t have problems with premature camshaft wear, only the PD TDIs from 2004-2006 have this issue.
VW is the only manufacturer that offers small cars with the diesel engine option in the USA, so unfortunately we don’t have the option to buy a car with a Ford 1.8D/TD.
Hi how I liked the video and I hope to find friends to talk about Engine Parts
Excellent clip.
jeeeeez open heart surgery to me ,
Good job! But Ford 1.8D/TD is much simpler so I can disassemble and assemble it much faster and without some special devices =)
Very nice video! Thanks.
awsome video. Thanks for you help.
Great video.
Why you had need to replace a camshaft?
Excellent vid, really interesting stuff!
Sorry if. Sound stupid, but what are the sprinted parts for? I was dre the I pressing that they were the valves but you showed them under the camshaft.
Join my free website to read the DIY article, way too many notes to list here or cover in a video. Don’t remember the torque off the top of my head.
good job 🙂 but what is the torque of the 8mm 12 point cap bolts ? the 10mm is 8nm + 90° if you do this to the 8mm they snap !!
I really like the way you explain and show every step in the process!
Verry nice and professional video!!!!!
How you know when the camshaft is bad ……i have a tdi ALH
Just a small comment – be very careful that you don’t drop the small triple square 12 point bit into the head when you remove it from the bolts, or there’s a good chance it’ll end up in your oil sump. You can probably guess how I know!
I appreciate your intelligent way of working
It dosen’t beaks in wears but the engine that is shown in a good one it is the same desing as a BEW engine the BRM is the worse for cam and lifter wear. it is more pronouce when the rong oil is used. the only big problem on the passat tdi engine is the timing chain for the ballencer/oil pump module.
Great vid mate! What could cause a cam shaft to break? And what ca you do to prevent it? Many thank’s.
