How much heat was needed? My e36 BMW one would not budge even if I heated it to red hot with map gas. I had to grind it off. I even needed heat on the lock nut!
Re alignment I just go by steering position on a flat straight line and the feel of the car. toe in will make it kind of bite toe out will make it feel a bit dead. Just adjust it by 1/4 a turn at a time in the required direction.
Nice, should have shown the heating and actual removal. Also when unscrewing the old ball joint what/how did you hold to stop the rod shaft from turning ?
I love the car but I’ve had to replace a few things on it… including the heater core. The mechanic didn’t have to take the dash off just the cover above it. He said it was a little cramped but it worked.
I didn’t need much heat. Yours sounds like it was really in there!

Not sure what the question is here.

I didn’t have to hold it. I used an impact gun to remove it.
