I remember that as being a little difficult too (think you already have the
faceplate off?). I had to apply even pressure to both sides (L & R) of the
unit at the same time…couldn’t get it out by just prying the top or
bottom.

Jac de Haan says:

our hazards were fine but the turn signal relay was broken. blinkers were
either failing completely, or blinking 2-3 times then making a buzzing
sound before ceasing. both relays are in the same part.

Jac de Haan says:

If you have the same hazard button, then yes, the relay is in there.
Confirm with your Audi/VW dealer when you pick up the part, or call the
dealership to confirm prior to purchasing online. Tnx for the kind words.

were the hazard lights working before you changed it? was this fix for the
signal blinkers or the hazards? I have a problem with mine – the hazards
work but the signal blinkers dont

Removing the plate was the easy part. It came off with no problems. I’m
thinking maybe I have to also hold down the hook with one finger while
pulling it out might help…. P.S The clips on both sides of the switch are
just for holding it in place but doesn’t necessarily locks it in.. right?

this is awesome!!!! GO little man! Come fix my TT! Thanks for sharing!

I have the same problem too. I bought a new switch but the problem is
dislodging the old one. I’ve tried to pry it loose with a hook but all I’ve
managed to do is chip the lip around the unit. I’m thinking of getting a
pair of pliers and breaking it down piece by piece.

Thank you for sharing this information I believe this is the problem for my
audi 03 A6, I’m going yo try this, hopefully it works! the dealership is
estimating me at 180.00 to fix this or even more ! Thank you!

Apolinar Franco says:

this is the same for an a6 right? i have a 2000 and it did the same thing
for me except that it doesnt even blink anymore. thanks a bunch man – ur
kid is adorable btw bless him

Put the video into HD and scroll to 1:00 and freeze it. See the tabs on the
side? If you squeeze both of those in, then you can pull the lip to slide
out the unit.
