That’s cheap! Here in NYC my guy wants $2,800 and that seems to be the norm around the shops
This video is lacking a lot. I feel like if you going to go through all the trouble, at least be thorough and explain whats going on. Don’t just point out a couple of things and shoot some mediocre footage.
Hey justin, I’m stuck on timing this thing. I replaced the left cylinder head, now I can’t time it. Can you show where exactly do you lock the cams and how do you adjust the variable cam timing. I’d appreciate it.

How much would this cost? A shop just told me $1200
so what was your solution did they fix it or did you have to take them to court? My mechanic messed my timing up also
Sounded like you had a cold
Don’t forget to order the parts from the amazon links. It helps me make these videos. Thanks!
Aside from pointing out a few bolts / service points i.e T55, 8mm allen, what other information are you sharing? Very basic overview.
sorry,but sincerely I can.t hearing that man…
is that a serious question?
Changing the timing belt in 4 minutes ? Your good !
I am a mechanic but, i have never work on the timing belt in this audi. is it necessary to use this tool? or can it be done with out it?
This vid is popular on Jordan
Sorry to hear that man.

This video is a favorite on Ottawa
wow just like harry houdini with booger strings…
Do you know how to replace the chain tensioners of an audi s4 4.2 v8 ?
The dealer replaced my belt on my 3.0 at 240,000 and they got it off timing so bad it wrecked the engine. They said it was the engines fault.
Just wanted to thank everyone that is watching my video. Hope this can help someone. Justin
i have a 2001 a4 2.8 quattro and i cant afford to take it to audi to get my timing belt replaced do you kno of and special tool i would need and a place for diy i cant find any… i am a newb to the whole fixing my own car thing lol… thanks in advance
I need to replace the exhaust camshaft on bank one on my 3.0 engine. how would i make sure that when i put the new shaft it will be on the correct timing ? Im doing the belt kit change since i need to pull the front end out.
I always thought that the 3.0 tdi had a timing ‘chain’. ?
you are talking like a shit
i was thinkin’ about buyin’ one but i keep reading horror stories about the timing belt tensioner and timing belt braking.. coil pack problems and sludge…..
not that bad. It’s pretty easy. What do you want to know?
how is it changing in a 2002 a4 1.8t…
Any other questions just let me know guys. I’ll try to help.
what i do – put CRANK pully on mark on lower timing cover
this way you don’t need to loose cam gears, unleas you change seals
if you not a mechanik- do not bi involvt in this belt
one of the water pump bolt hide under power stearing pump, betterr to remove it, this way you gut easy access to thermostat, always good idiea to replase with water pump
last time i done this job for 5.5 hours, without special locking camshaft tools. it is no marks on pullys, becouse all 4 cams has adjust timing. what i do – put cam pully on mark on lower timing cover, and just live old belt on this position. before removing i put my owne marks on cams. on each bank make marks were intake and exost gersclose to each other. also mark each cam to backcover and counted touth betwen marks on exost and intake gears. for crank pully make own marks to oil pump cover
nice video thanks, im waiting for UPS to arrived with the T40030 tool, how do you align the crankshatf ??? is it on TDC cyl #1 ??
i hope you get better with that sinus
justin
I don’t think there are marks. Because when you loosen the cam gears from the camshafts you would move the timing. Same thing when you tighten them.
OK how to align the camshafts without the locking tools
wHERE ARE THE MARKS ON TH CAMSHAFTS
tHIS IS THE MILION DOLLAR QUESTION ?
john?
