How to Install Rear Brakes on a B8.5 Audi S4

We show you the installation process for rear brakes on our project S4 While this video was shot on a B8.5 S4 most B8 and B8.5 models with electronic rear park brakes would be a very similar install. We installed Giro-disc 2-piece rear rotors with G-Loc street pads on our B8.5 Audi S4. Make sure you watch our previous video on how to retract the rear parking parking brake (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIs1_amwhYg) so you can properly complete the install without destroying your caliper.

great help for me installing my rear rotors and pads. super easy task. my hardest part was just connecting to the damn obdeleven for the first time. had to restart everything including my phone. of course this was after i trolled the internet for bluetooth connection issues which what was the issue but no answer came up. restarted the phone and bam. good to go. it was a little over an hour process after the obd11 deal thanks to your channel again!

Gabriel Sanchez says:

Are these the same step for a S5?

Matthew Rodden says:

what kind of screwdriver do I have to use to remove that one screw in the rotor disc? You used a big power drill to remove it, is it even possible to remove it with a screwdriver and if so what size/kind of screwdriver head do I need without stripping it?

Stephen Roybal says:

The piston has to twist in? So many people in the forums say they are using basic/cheap brake caliper tool or even c-clamp. Wonder how these people are doing it with a c-clamp.

Tom Irwin says:

Put some rear EBC rotors and pads on my 2014 S4. Having some issues with the pads dragging. Any suggestions?

спасибо, интересный канал!

Wesley Johnson says:

Where can I find that manual piston retraction tool you used? Link?

Christian Mark says:

Great stuff! Heard a tip about not slamming down hard with your foot to pump the brakes before activating the rear calipers via scan tool. Might froth up the brake fluid and compromise the brake cylinders seals.. (Primary or slave brake cylinder)
Put some appropriate grease between the hub and bearing when slapping on the new rotor..prevents you going all Hammer time. For winter conditions with road salt, clean and relubricate the gliders check rubber seals.. if you have to remove the pad holder in order to remove the rotor (B8) its an 18mm

Sergii says:

why not cleaning pad springs, cleaning/swapping new guide pins and their boots if you are already there?

Brandon Rodriguez says:

Hey I got a question I have a gti mk5 manual trans and my 5th and 6th gears have pretty much the same rpms as 4th gear so I can’t go that much faster than 4th gears top speed. Do you know what causes this?

DamianSix66 says:

Really enjoy your videos , I drive a Skoda Octavia as my Taxi so a lot of your vids are applicable. I wish Americans had Skoda's so you lot would do some maintenance vids.

chehsin says:

do you know is the company that sells those rotor also sells the replacement rotors only. it would be dumb if you can't reuse the hat and change the whole thing the next time you need brakes done

Josh Costa says:

Give those brakes a little bit of time and they are going to squeak like a son of a gun…
