Dude, you say some of the oddest shit, but I’ve watched a few of your
videos and you always seem to know what ur talkin about so I subscribed.
Thanks for the tip.

Dwight Coutts says:

Excellent Brian … I’ll give it a try on my 2004 VW Golf TDI (Diesel) 1.9L
when I can find the “security torx”. Hope it fixes the car going into limp
mode.

letuotter says:

As the internet might say, LERN TO CAMERA.
Or barring that, for the love of GOD, get someone else to hold the damn
thing for you. Video ain’t worth crap if I can’t see what you’re doing or
the freaking engine you’re working on.

Hugo Vazquez says:

Fucking dick

mactechaddict says:

Dude I always watch your videos for car help. Thanks a lot dude.

briansmobile1 says:

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome!

Luke Timms says:

Dizzy after a few mins! Can’t watch anymore.

Daniel Northington says:

BTW, I bought a tamper resistent t25 bit, but the hole wasn’t large
enough… might this be a specialty tool? I ended up using a vice-grip to
get the screws off.

moMruoYgnillorT says:

I almost missed that! lol!

kingtim901 says:

will the MAF cause the car to shut down? Put in a new one and it started
but theirs still weird feeling of cutting off. Is that normal or more
issues? 2005 Mercury Mariner 2.3L

Phalanx96 says:

can i clean this sensor with carb/brake cleaner?

Paul Hernandez says:

I went through a few big puddles of water the other and my automatic
transmission isnt shifting normal anymore, but it shifts at 4000 rpms and
it only shifts twice. Can somebody help me

briansmobile1 says:

I’d say no.that’s normal. You might have an oxygen sensor that has a slow
response. You might want to put in a factory one upstream.

briansmobile1 says:

The best thing to do is to check your motor mounts and the slack on the
wires. You can glue them for support, but likely vibration isn’t enough to
pull the wires.

Norris Jones says:

just the tip!!!!

Rob Luke says:

I recently replaced my MAF for my 2001 New Beetle Diesel TDI. The old one
was missing the two wires. The new one lasted about a month and the wires
also came loose. The disel motor vibrates alot-typlical of this kind of
motor I’m told. I was curious-do you think I could use some type of glue to
help hold these in place as long as I didn’t get excessive or allow the
glue to touch the other wires? Thanks

nywvblue says:

I’ve changed the MAF sensor a couple of times over the last 6 years and
it’s fixed the problem immediately – so thank you for your video! Today’s
new trouble is a P0102 code “MAF A-Circuit low input” message with what
appears to me to an obvious electrical issue. Do you know if there is an
easy (as in: I can do it myself) way to check/change the connector, wiring,
and pins?

briansmobile1 says:

There’s a better option available called Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner.

Richard Cowtails says:

lmfao!

pavlo198 says:

can you help me!? is the MAF Mass air flow in the same place in jetta mk3
1998? tnks

friedchicken1981 says:

i did the same thing.. only thing i had to do was go buy the cookies to
move them aside.. for the rest everything went fine!! 😀

Alex Hdz says:

Thanks u for answer my comment. I cleaned it but it did work n after I
did it the light “EPC” turned on n that one of the doble front traction.
The car is hard to start It sounds n looks like is choke n shakes alot in
low rpm. N after it starts it makes alot of exhaust n it smells like
gasoline. Do u think I have to replace the maf sensor?or u think my car
have another problem? I changed spark plugs n cables n oil filters air n
oil. I don’t think it has a problem w gas

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome!

SURFANTASMA says:

were is the pcv valve ?

Omar Attawna says:

i had the same problem and the technician told me that it is a pedal tuning
issue so he tuned it, and cleaned the Carborator and then reset the fault
and it worked out.

Gerhard Hein says:

would that work on a TDI the same??

Matt Stimmel says:

I have a 99 VR6 new body, my engine light came on diagnosed MAF sensor. I
plan on cleaning. Do you think that will solve my issues? also when the
engine is cold shifting is way off could this be why?

MicahTheNub says:

No. Bad idea.

Daniel Sharp says:

Hi Brian, I have replaced two MAFs and the code keeps comiung back. How do
I properly clear the code?

robert sacobie says:

Is it the same method for all maf sensors, I think mine on my 2001 nissam
sentra might be bad or needs cleaning….

airx21 says:

hi i am getting a p0102 on my 99.5 jetta 2.0l mkIV and i replaced the maf
with one from oreilly.. and my car is still getting the same code and
running like crap.. i thought it was a bad maf since the tech said it was
a refurb.. so i had them order me another refurb.. and still the same
issue.. PLEASE HELP. cud it be another bad maf or cud it be something else?
the car seems to run better when i take off the plug from the maf.

Miguel Higuera says:

1:31 = fart

Deejeezy405 says:

Your videos are very helpful. Maybe you can help me out with this problem?
I have two codes appearing on my scanner. The codes are P1297–it says to
check for a loose or missing hose between turbocharger and throttle valve
(I have a 2001 1.8T) and the other code is P1128–it says that there is low
fuel pressure; vacuum leak on engine; failed H02S (heated oxygen sensor)
Bank 1. I believe the 2nd code (P1128) is caused by the first code (P1297).
Where is the turbo and throttle valve located?
