babyjoker360 says:

What are those holes next to the coils?

Alphaand theOmega says:

vw wanted 200$ to do this lol

ALEX HERNANDEZ says:

Friend hardly understand in English but tell me I have a 99 audi spark the
4th as you want to do it because it is very expensive mechanic what they
charge and I prefer to learn from you as a comrade and other things my audi
INSP appears not to be I hope you know. ise and change it but my expensive
Lube is losing strength good but anyway I hope you answer me thanks

N7Hero says:

I have an Audi A4 1.8 with the exact stutter problem you described from bad
spark plugs. Now I feel alot more confident that it will fix the problem.
Thanks

Beau Boruff says:

stick with cheap copper plugs.. ngk sells a good plug bkr6e just change
them every 20k

Tyler Kirkpatrick says:

You cannot vent to atmosphere on most VW’s

lulz says:

saved my life man. spent most of my money on my first car which is a 2002
vw jetta 1.8t and this makes a tune up a hell of alot cheaper than having a
dealer do it!!

NETWizzJbirk says:

Unfortunately, you are right! I will probably get a bunch of kids who won’t
do a job right when they work on my car because it is simply quicker to
cut-corners and still flag the same amount of billable time under the
flat-rate system. Those engineers who spent all that time coming up with
the torque specs must have done it for no reason.

iamamaletta says:

This vid was so helpful and I was able to change my own plugs and coils
without any hesitation or help. Thanks a million, you saved me buku at the
strealership!! Grateful Girl in Florida!

Doug Dale says:

Installing a BOV on an audi/vw is going to ruin your engine as it’s not
designed for that, it has a recirculating diverter valve system.

Hamster RU says:

lol well you can use your torque wrench!

Beau Boruff says:

i agree i probably should have shown everyone how to use a torque wrench.
unfortunately its not an average tool a home owner will have. i wrench so
much that sadly i can just feel 15lbs with a wrench. most modern aluminum
cylinder heads require around 15lbs of torque to seat the plugs. this
usually is snug plus a little bit on a standard 3/8 drive 5 inch wrench.
thanks beau

NETWizzJbirk says:

Not always that simple. Certain jobs I don’t have the expertise to do nor
the equipment. For spark-plugs, yeah, I just won’t go to the shop! What if
I need auto tranny work? What shatedtree mechanic is going to replace a
planetary gearset in his driveway?

NETWizzJbirk says:

Use a TORQUE WRENCH!

Phil Nicholls says:

I sort of wonder why you would “throw the spark plug” down into the whole,
when you can just ease it down in inside the socket?

Beau Boruff says:

sorry i dont really understand the question.. repost and ill try and help

Hamster RU says:

then don’t take your car to a shop! its that simple lol

James Hill says:

how come you didnt use anti seize or protective grease? just wondering

Beau Boruff says:

i’ve been a mechanic and owned my own shop for 12 yrs..and ive never seen a
coil fail from being handled roughly in a packaged container. coils don’t
fail because you move them or shake them.. internal failures withing the
winding of the coil cause them to go out.. the audi vw design is inherently
plagued by heat from the engine which slowly overheats the winding…. and
your correct just like in the video i always suggest you hand tighten the
spark plugs fully then tighten with a wrench

Beau Boruff says:

hi jamadh, i get this comment alot, anti seize is a great product but i
don’t recommend it on aluminum cylinder heads. most modern spark plug
manufactures actually say not to use the stuff. the spark plugs actually
have a special metallic coating that prevents the plug from freezing to the
cylinder. Google ngk antiseize and you can read there warnings. i don’t
recommend its use but if you do use it on an aluminum engine be careful not
to over tighten the plugs. thanks beau

Hamster RU says:

go ahead and bust that torque wrench out working at a dealer or any other
flat rate shop. Watch the laughs

Cessna readyfortakeoff says:

You did not show how to remove those wires and you make it sound so easy
for some of us we need step by step ty

Brad Dayton says:

whats the name of the website he suggests??

Beau Boruff says:

the check engine light could be many things, did you replace the coils and
spark plugs?try and have a local parts store check the light for you and
let me know the code. ASR light shouldn’t be related. ASR stands for anti
slip regulation .. it a slip sensor that keep the tires from losing
traction.

Doug Dale says:

VAG = Volkswagen Audi Group 🙂

slapdaddy09 says:

Great video! I have a 2005 VW gti 1.8t n I have been noticing a loss of
power while accelerating or cruising at random times. Usually on the
highway but sometimes even at a stop light. The car will slow down not
respond to the gas pedal but then kick back in and this is happening
randomly like 3x a month. Lastly the car will sometimes stall or shake at a
red light n either cut off or attempt to. Do these issues sound like spark
plugs? To my knowledge the plugs, wires or coils haven’t been chang

gansyx says:

Hi I replaced spark plugs in my VW1.8T,2003 and after that my engine light
and ASR lights on and don’t go away. Can you tell me what did I do wrong?
Thanks

gibrahan giabrahan says:

hi, what kind of spark its better for audi a4? ngk? pulstar? or the
original from VOLK?

kumbackquatsta says:

can the coils be placed back in any order or do they have to go into the
same hole ?

bankboyzcapo1 says:

What’s the name of the site yu suggested ??

Beau Boruff says:

id change them warm if they have been in there for along time..

alexfromportland says:
