Oh okay, thanks anyway. I managed to find it on Audi World Forum (Cabin Air filter). Let other people know who may need help with it in the future 🙂

Unfortunately, Youtube won’t allow me to paste the link :/

edzgarage says:

Sorry, I have not worked on a 1.9TDI The in cabin air cleaner is under the windshield above the engine.

Roshan Panchal says:

Hi, my dad has a 1996 A6 1.9TDI and we need to change the A/C filter. Have you worked on it or do you anyone with similar car who may have changed it since I didn’t seem to find it on your site?
Thanks

edzgarage says:

The fuel pump is accessed through the trunk. You can only feel around in there blindly. If you can empty the fuel before you start it will make the job a lot easier. You can do it with fuel in the tank, but your arm will go numb from being in the fuel. I did this job along time ago and it’s not too hard to do. Getting the pump out of it’s holder in the tank is the hardest part since you can’t look down there while your hands are in the access hole. Good Luck!

saul alma says:

i have a audi a6 2.8L, can you please explain the process of an R&I of a fuel pump to one of these cars

edzgarage says:

This is very strange. I don’t know what the problem is Buddy.

Roy Diedesch says:

My 1997 A6 wont accelerate over 10mph if i put it in “drive” but it goes just fine in 1,2,&3, and as soon as i’m up to speed, it goes fine when i put it in “D.” No lights are on and the car makes no sounds at all. Any idea of what it could possibly be? (all the idiot lights work when the ignition is on so i know that they work)

edzgarage says:

Our A6 has 261k miles and it’s still going! Thanks for the comment!

Andrew P says:

I have one of these and i love the car 210k so far so good. One day car wouldnt start and i thought it was a fuel pump, turned out o be just a clogged filter. These are very good cars, just take care of them very well.

simonellson says:

thanks anyhow

edzgarage says:

I’m not really sure Buddy.

simonellson says:

seems to happen in the auto not manual (it’s a geartronic version)

edzgarage says:

It could be a trans problem especially if it happens only in one gear.

simonellson says:

My A6 has recently been Shuddering, when I accelerate, it is an auto - do you think it may be a transmission problem such as the trans oil needs changing?

Zaidziam says:

hey dude I have same audi and I came with one problem,Even when fuel tank is almost half full when I drive 52km car starts very difficult…What could be a problem? (English isn’t my main language)

edzgarage says:

This is a 95

edzgarage says:

Thanks a lot Buddy I do appreciate it. I left the car in the garage for over a week so it could dry out. So far the trans is acting normally.

Upallnight says:

I have a scanner that has the attachment to connect it to the OBD I port for our cars. It is not a universal scanner, but a scanner for just VAG Products. It does read the transmission TCM (transmission Control Module). Your videos on the Audi has helped me many of time (changed the timing belt and water pump based on your water pump video), just returning the favor.

edzgarage says:

I have a scanner, but it only reads OBDII not OBDI. The weather is getting nicer out, so I hope to be able to diagnose it and fix it. I’ll let you know if I need your scanner. Thanks for the offer!

edzgarage says:

It’s my wife’s car.

Garrett Jdbe says:

Is this your car?

Upallnight says:

Are you sure the car is not in limp mode and starting out in 3rd gear? On the dash is the PRND321 all lite up? Do you have a scanner to scan the trans for trouble code? I have a scanner that I can loan you if you just pay for the shipping and return postage.

edzgarage says:

The car shifts into 3rd or 4th gear at 5mph and the car wants to stall. If I apply the brake the car shifts back into first and shifts correctly, as soon as I take my foot off the brake the trans shifts all over the place. Ant of this sound like what you were dealing with?

805ROADKING says:

Fine job Buddy!! That was some fine German Engineering putting the filter there!! My last Toyota PU was so hard to get to I paid to have it replaced!!☺

Upallnight says:

What type of problem are you having with the trans? I have a 1995 A6 Avant. I replaced the multifunction switch and did a drain and filter replacement. Are you getting trans program message on the dash? Have you read any error code?

edzgarage says:

I hear ya, I wish they were all this easy. Thanks Buddy!

edzgarage says:

Yep, you’re correct. Thanks for the comment!

edzgarage says:

I love how this car is designed. It’s pretty easy to fix. Thanks Buddy!

edzgarage says:

Thanks for watching!

edzgarage says:

You are correct. He was messing around with his truck while I was doing this job.

edzgarage says:

I’ll see if I still have it. It may be gone already.

IHcubcadet says:

Nice. Why cant all fuel filters be this easy to replace.

wisetrashmanable says:

the copper washer actually isn’t a washer at all. It acts as a gasket when the steel hardware is torqued. The copper conforms perfectly to the the harder material (steel), crushing it and creating a liquid tight seal. This is known as a “crush gasket”.

Rockin Guy says:

You got lucky with that filter. good job ed

Sean Healy says:

Good to kno it’s always a learning experience when I watch one of ur vids like this and I can hear master outdoorsmans truck in the background

geordo2001 says:

Could you cut open the old filter of blow it out and show us what’s inside?

edzgarage says:

This is a great design. Thanks Matt!

edzgarage says:

Thanks Buddy!

edzgarage says:

It sure was easy. They should all be that easy.
