Mine just went last night. It’s doing the same thing as your’s in your
video but mine refuses to go all the way up even if I grab it. Has been
making a screeching sound for a couple weeks now but I thought it wasn’t
anything big, maybe just needed a cleaning by the felt part on both sides
of the glass.
Turns out, I took apart the door panel and found some of the wire in bad
shape and scraping on the inside making that noise, and probably fell off
the pulley somewhere.. I actually happen to have a spare in the shed from a
car I bought for parts! However it’s not too expensive to buy the regulator
on eBay, about $30/each and a simple fix (it appears, seen another YT
video)
This happened to my Audi today!! Thank goodness I took out 2 years extra
warranty so I’m covered 🙂 I thought the kids had shoved something down the
window!
Mine’s goes down normally but when I close it, it goes up slow and goes
down again!!
Mine won’t even go up, it’s seized.
Sounds like classic regulator failure. Sorry mate. Not hard to do. just
tedious. Dont be afraid to give it a shot fixing yourself.
Hmmm…My power window is making a crunching sound when I actuate the
motor…LET’S TAKE A VIDEO FOR YOUTUBE, repeating the demonstration twice
so nobody misses anything. lol Audi’s are great cars, djalexr, I have a
2004 A4 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic, and it has problems like every other car,
it hasn’t been a lemon to me, and I come from a long line of VW/Audi
Products, the reason you hear people bitch so much is because it’s
sometimes costly to repair. But, you should know that when you buy it.
my mom was driving her a4 and im not sure if she hit the switch or not but
the window just droped down into the door
@chaosnsoap2go what exactly did you do, cause Its my rear window too and im
not feeling the $400 charge by audi to fix it
This is a common problem for many Audi and VW owners. I shared the video
for those who might be having the same issue and are not sure whats going
on with their car. This is third VAG vehicle. I know what the cost to
repair. Thats why I know how to fix problems like this myself. Thanks for
viewing and good luck with your car.

@whoismario So what did you do? I have a B5 S4 and a B6 A4 1.8T and both my
rear windows do not work. How much was it to fix it or did you do it
youself? Any advice? THANKS!
Great to know this, I have an Audi A4 2003 and both rear window have this
problem. On top of that, the hook to open the hood broke on the side of the
hood, now I can not open the hood and I have the whole wire in my hand.
Will not buy again an audi. Thanks for sharing
@KiranTaker270 Sounds like classic regulator failure. Sorry mate. Not hard

Since the clips are not available, I located a European manufacturer and
are now stock all clips for Audi, VW and some BMW.
that sure is luxurious lol
This happened to me today!!!!!! I’m so screwed!

Looks like the regulator is fine since it does roll down. The thing that’s
bad is a greeen plastic thing that the window slides up and down on. I just
fixed mine today wit some glue and zip ties.
I’ve had two of these go on my car so far, as a matter of fact, my front
passenger window regulator just went two days ago. I have a warranty, but
if I didn’t, it would probably cost about $300 to get it repaired, with the
diagnosis fee and all. I pay a $50 deductible. Be smart and buy an extended
warranty with your car, if the list of things covered isn’t a book, don’t
buy the warranty.
I have a 2006 B7 A4 2.0T and the drivers side window is doing the exact
same thing! This is a piss off. It only has 52000 original kilometers and
the previous owner changed the clutch at 30k and I just changed it again
1000 kilometers ago. Very bad quality and I love the look but do not
recommend the product. They are making money by selling something that
looks good on the outside but cheap parts on the inside. The engine is very
good though. Anyways what do I need to do to fix this issue?
my window just either broke the arm or fell out of the track. not sure
which yet we havent taken it apart. but somehow the regulator sounds fine
i wanna get audi a6 but i wanna know do they have a problems wth the motor
or trasmision or some other stuff
yeah i had this problem with my rear window.. fixed it for free with some
jb weld
My car has been good overall, Ive replaced things like the coilpacks before
they go bad. Next up is the timing belt.
@JeansBiturboA6 The problem is with the B6 A4 by the way… and they do
roll down but they just wont roll up with the switch!!
my vw golf iv has a broken cable where you press the button it drops to the
bottom of the door and cannot be retrieved unless you take the door card
off pressed it heard a grinding sound so the cable is knackered
Oh yes, I know this problem all too well. BOTH my windows are out on the
back doors, just outside of the 100k extended warranty too! I love my audi
but I have had so many problems with it that it isn’t even funny. It’s a
car you should buy brand new and ditch around 60k miles.
man…that sucks…what year is your Audi??? i was about to buy a 2009 Audi
A4, but i just heard that Audi’s have a lot of breakdown problems…can you
tell me more about anyproblems you have with your Audi?
