Audi S4, Q5, & Q7 Ignition Coil & Spark Plug Replacement DIY (B8/B8.5 3.0t V6 Supercharged Engine)

Audi S4, Q5, & Q7 Ignition Coil & Spark Plug Replacement DIY (B8/B8.5 3.0t V6 Supercharged Engine)

► The ignition coils on your Audi S4, S5, Q5, or Q7 are responsible for providing voltage to support the spark needed to trigger combustion. Your car might not display a check engine code when your ignition coils are malfunctioning, so it is up to you to diagnose the problem. We recommend replacing ignition coils on your Audi B8/B8.5 every 100,000-miles for peace of mind and optimal performance.

Aaron Davis, our Audi Catalog Manager, shows you how easy it is to replace the ignition coils and spark plugs on a 2013 B8.5 Audi S4 with the 3.0t V6 Supercharged Engine.

Common Symptoms of Ignition Coil Failure:
Misfiring of engine
Reduced engine performance
Trouble starting the vehicle
Reduced fuel economy

Bob Saget says:

I noticed it took a few times to crank the car over, my S4 sometimes does that too (after I let it sit for while, maybe a day or two). Sometime my car cranks right over, sometimes it takes a few seconds like in the video.

I know this pretty much seems like a non-issue, but do you know if this is normal for these cars?

Caleb Christensen says:

If i get just an iridium spark plug from a local autoparts store, would this be a problem? Or should I do NGK?
