Audi 2.0T Oil Pan Replacement | Q5/A4/A6/AllRoad models DIY

Audi 2.0T Oil Pan Replacement | Q5/A4/A6/AllRoad models DIY

In today’s video we are replacing the damaged and leaking oil pan on 2014 Audi Q5 2.0T. This oil pan was recently resealed at a local shop and had a leak begin within 500 miles. The shop opened the pan with a screwdriver and damaged the pan, the tried to cover it up with extra RTV, but that didn’t prevent the leak. Since they damaged it, the best route is to replace the whole oil pan. This is pretty much the same procedure for any 2.0T (Q5, A4, A6, & Allroad) with the electronic steering rack.

When doing this job, even if you are just resealing it and using the old pan, you MUST use new hardware. DON’T use old hardware, they can strip or break. I also highly recommend the OEM sealant as well. Links below for all hardware and tools needed much cheaper than the dealership if you plan ahead.

Don’t forget new oil and filter as well!

Which manual dipstick did you use? Noticed that as I am preparing myself for the same job. Just replaced all suspension components as the oil thrashed the bushings. After cleaning all the oil off noticed it's from the pan. Fml.

My 2013 B8.5 A4 oil pan has been leaking since 2019. I have never been able to find a comprehensive video showing how its done. I went to two different mechanics and received quotes in excess of $1,500. I figured the cost to top off the oil was lower than getting it fixed. Their reasoning was always, "we have to drop the subframe of the vehicle to change the oil pan". THANK YOU so much for this video. I completed this job in an afternoon ( about 4 hours, including watching my daughter), and I had all of the tools and steps necessary because of your video. Definitely wasn't that difficult of a job. One caveat, my electronic steering module came ALL the way down, and MAN that was difficult to get back in place. I zip tied it to the anti-roll bar, but it didn't help much. All that being said, you are the GOAT, and you've got a subscriber for life. THANK YOU again!
