Rini Sugiarto says:

MINE S3 HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, ALL CRACKED,,,FAILED AUDI DESIGN, DO YOU KNOW
IF I CAN JUST SEALED THE HOSE???? WOULD THAT MATTER?? THANKS

Sean Connell says:

I like how you went to disconnect the hose and the next scene is you now
having to replace the whole thing. Exact same thing happened to me. Damn
brittle plastic… Thanks for the video.

Peter Haney says:

Just about slaughtered my arms, hands and wrists trying to install the new
breather hose. It was aftermarket but somehow a little over sized for the
holes. Had to cut plastic off the ends to make it fit just partially in
the big breather hole. O ring of little use. By the way, the first O ring
I tried fell inside the engine. Should I worry? Anyway only friction fit
is holding it in now. Will try using LEXEL to seal it. Self -torture.

Peter Haney says:

I just removed my cracked breather hose. Knowing brittle plastic in cold
weather, I took my time with patience. It came out in one piece.

EuroTechSolutions says:

Hmmmm. I don’t remember, but I don’t think it did.

EuroTechSolutions says:

Yeah, it’s amazing how time reveals many design flaws.

ArcolaBridge says:

no mine did not come with a new O-Ring, it’s an orange O-ring.

ArcolaBridge says:

Well from a company like Volkswagen and Audi this is entirely unacceptable.
All that cheap plastic ruins their name, your only as strong as your
weakest part.

EuroTechSolutions says:

Well it would definitely cause a fuel air mixture issue and possibly
misfires. I don’t know that it would cause the engine not to run at all
though.

Scott Sigafoose says:

when you buy the breather hose does it come with new o ring

ArcolaBridge says:

Luckily the piece that broke off came out as 1 piece… DESIGN FLAW.

EuroTechSolutions says:

I don’t know the PN, but you can visit vagcat forum and they have a pretty
decent free epc on there that should get you the part number. Thats where I
got the PN when I needed it. HTH

Bennie G says:

Same thing happened to my niece’s A4. Kept on getting a lean code. Can you
tell me the Napa parts number for the breather tube? I want to stay away
from the dealer. Thanks.

SaltyDog770 says:

Use either autohausaz or car-stuff for the Audi’s. I work on mine myself
all the time and these are my main two parts suppliers for everyday
maintenance. ECS tuning is also a good resource but are a little more
expensive. You don’t really need to know the Part Numbers on these sites.
You can just do a simple description search to find these. Hope this helps.

SaltyDog770 says:

Made me laugh too!! ROTFL!!!

Diezmastres says:

euro body my secondary air pump keeps staying for awhile then shuts off
what can i do ?

SaltyDog770 says:

BREAKAGE!!!! CARNAGE!!! It happens… LOL!!!

Herman Castaneda says:

What ere the consequences of that hose breaking because mine broke and my
car won’t crank. I am hoping that is the only problem and all I have to do
is replace that hose instead of looking for something else, or worse case
scenerio my engine is done. help????

EuroTechSolutions says:

I believe this is what you are looking for.
vagcat.com/epc/cat/au/A4/1998/218/49/2614781/ If not go to the vagcat
website and sign up. It’s free. You’ll probably have to to even see that
link. And they go to their parts catologue and enter your vehicle info. You
should be able to find it. HTH

Jordan Ritch says:

Thanks alot for making this video!! It helped me alot! 🙂

EuroTechSolutions says:

lol yeah the more I work on these things the more I regret it. j/k you just
have to be ready for anything…Thanks for watching.

Mole Maguires says:

shit bastards to get to them breathers omfg …

EuroTechSolutions says:

It’s been a while since I did this repair, but I don’t recall it not
fitting properly. You may have something still stuck in there or it could
be a part that wasn’t manufactured properly. HTH

rfn944 says:

Were you getting P0171 code from this bad breather hose? Have a 2003 VW
Passat 1.8T with P0171. Just replaced MAF to fix P0300. Had a rough idle.
Now have P0171, suspect vacuum leak.

EuroTechSolutions says:

That’s an awesome tip, thanks for sharing!

EuroTechSolutions says:

It’s definitely part of the business. Thanks for watching!

EuroTechSolutions says:

Yes I did have a P0171, Mixture too lean bank 1. I had to smoke test it to
find it though.

jolmeaki says:

Great video. Just ordered some 4 ply silicone breather hoses for my 2000 A4
1.8t from 034. Kept hearing a raddle and saw the top half of my breather
hose flapping. Touched it and it just broke off. No kit for the ATW so I
ordered extra to cut and piece together. Called 034 and it’s in
development. Other 1.8ts are about $130.

Mole Maguires says:

got audi a4 1998 fwd saloon i need diaghram its pain arse no idea were pipe
go from lower crankcase pls help

EuroTechSolutions says:

No it shouldn’t, what’s happen is the oil and vapors from the crankcase has
made it soft over time. It’s also a good idea to replace the crankcase vent
valve also, sometimes they get soft due to it failing and sending oil up
the line. HTH

EuroTechSolutions says:

Not sure exactly. If you could send me a part number for it, I’ll try and
see what I can find for you.

EuroTechSolutions says:

Not sure if I understand completely. The secondary air pump should come on
when you start the vehicle up and it’s “cold.” Do you mean it comes on
after the vehicle has already been running for a while? The purpose of the
air pump is to allow extra air to get to the catalytic converter so that it
will reach operating temperature quicker. EPA wants it to start cleaning
the exhaust air as quickly as possible.

EuroTechSolutions says:

Yeah these things have a way of keep on giving.

carlosg815 says:

The same thing just happened to me. Pretty pissed about it, seeing as how
it’s over $40 for this.

deejayneilb says:

For the small broken pieces u cant get with ure fingers, i used a short
length of vac tube taped on to hoover attachment… it sucked all those
hard to get little pieces outta there.. hope this helps anyone with this
prob…

EuroTechSolutions says:

I’m glad it helped you. Thanks for watching!

EuroTechSolutions says:

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It’s on the bottom end, so what will
probably happen is it will fall into the oil pan and stay there. If it does
break up and try to move on it will either get caught in the strainer for
the oil pump or end up in the filter. If you are still worried about it,
you could always drop the oil pan and pick it out. But I wouldn’t be too
worried. HTH

dangerousffc says:

got the fufu valve and breather changed and now she runs lovely! cheers bro

orozco53204 says:

hi,did that hose align nice and straight with that t-hose it connects
too,or does the hose seem to sit a little lower,i have to force it down
pretty hard to fit and it feels like it could brake on the tip of the hose.

KyleKyleton says:

Thanks, this was very helpful.

EuroTechSolutions says:

Glad it helped. That’s why I do this.

melvin ramirez says:

the breather hose decided that it was happier in multiple pieces lmao..

SuperBeats4life says:

Replacing that part i had a pice dropping in..bigger than urs….how do i
get it out….is it ok to start the car?thx

dangerousffc says:
