You should repair the conector and install a sealed conector on the wires
again. You may find you don’t have to relace the sensor as often. Your
wires are the issue. Ps you should get the oil leak fixed. You don’t want
the input gear to round off from lack of lube.
I say head the the wrecking yard, take the cable off of a junked Explorer
or other similiar sized Ford. By doing this you will quickly learn how to
fix yours. Be sure and check the gear inside the trnasmission too.

afford beer this weekend). ran my 4runner through a river and messed the
speedo up i bet this is the problem.
it’s usually near the output shaft. I’d reccommend that you purchase a
repair manual for your particular vehicle. it will tell you the location of
parts like that.
I’m not sure about the Escort but it is likely easier than the Diesel truck
because it probably doesn’t have to be adjusted in order to have proper
clearance.
@Thewiredmechanic A pre-trip inspection is done at the beginning and end of
each driving period. The oil leak was from a drain hose on the
turbocharger. it was later repaired. No engine oil leak will have an effect
on the transmission.
I just go my replaced and I looked around online 1st and just like you
showed, it was easy. But the shop I went to said you have to dig them out
and it’s hard and takes 2-5 hours, they only charged me for 2 cuz I
complained. I live in New England and weather could cau it to rust up. What
do you think? BTW I have a 99 Ford Escort.
I replaced throttle position sensor, output speed sensor, rear wheel speed
sensor, but my 98 durango keeps going up to 3000 rpm to pull the switch.
and start dialing the speed q I (25 mph), ….. I should change over to
walk normal,,,,,

If I replace the Speed Sensor on my 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue, will it fix
the speed problem? Wnenever I go through a radar detector on Canal Rd.
(25MPH speed zone), my speedometer says 25MPH, but the sign that shows
“Your Speed:” shows that my car is going 22 MPH with/without the cruise
control on.
Not sure how much this will help me since I have a huge Dodge conversion
van but it sure made me smile. 🙂 I do know it will help me to know where
to look for it at any rate. 🙂 I won’t pay someone to do it either if I can

Ya ,I,ve replaced many of those on Eaton,s and Spicers,I can do that with
my eye,s closed,,But on a 1993 Mazda MX3,Now ,Where is that One

It’s probably an error on the positioning of the needle on your speedometer
did the sensor worked? looks like it was a fuller transmission

how you change the speed sensor on a 2000 Mazda B2500?
It will be on the transmission tailhousing
how would you change the speed sensor on a ford taurus 2000? I have tried
many times but I cant locate it.
I would be more likely to suspect something in the steering column. The
speed sensor isn’t routed through the column.

I can’t remove mine on my 300zx TT because the exhaust is in the way…
I’ll have to remove the whole exhaust just to remove that damn thing 🙁
